Square-Enix's business policy for the last generation has been ruthless. Instead of making games that match up to the legends of the 90s or aiming to fulfill fan expectations they just resort to focus groups and surveys. They put the budget on fancy visuals and cutscenes so that it appears AA quality on the outside. Then fund a massive marketing budget so people can see all the fancy particles and mid-air fight scenes in trailers and tv commercials.

You have to remember that the people who would donate are the fans of the franchise. And in Kickstater campaigns, there are usually a lot of content to prove that their project is genuine and not a deceptive scheme into tricking people to donate.
What publishers are worried (with websites like Kickstarter) is that the team could potentially get much more money than needed for the production. Where does that money go? Perhaps into the pockets of the team. Maybe not. Either way...
I remember how disappointed everyone was after the C&D notice was given to the guys making Chrono Resurrection.
But Nintendo are even more notorious. A couple of guys had an ambitious plan to make a Metroid short film and put it up on Kickstarter to crowdfund only to get blasted by the N-guys.
There is a catch in all this though. Konami told them not to accept donations. Though to be fair, at least Konami gave them the okay. Doubt Nintendo or Square would...
Wish Respawn would do this for Titanfall.
The walkthrough/playthrough videos can sometimes get millions of views and a lot of these viewers are people who want to see more than just a 3-minute trailer to decide whether to buy a game or not.
Nintendo are acting draconian anyway by demanding people who put in the effort of playing, recording, commentary, editing and uploading to give a cut of the ad revenue.
The Let's Play videos already provide a huge amount of advertising for Nintendo's games. Arguably, a good portion of their sales are entirely due to these youtube videos.
lol, ive reported all the spam comments because I found them annoying for some reason.
They're all 1 person, very likely the "owner" of this gamer syria.
Basically, it is graphically amazing for PS3 and X360 but disappointing for PC/PS4/X1.
I wonder if it was the cross-generation development that caused this. Or was the E3 2012 prototype really setting the bar too high for Ubisoft?
Oh well, hopefully Assassin's Creed Unity can redeem all this.
But the original neogaf post does. We are to assume these shots are at 4K resolution on Ultra settings.
If true, these shots are very disappointing.
Not really. Watch Dogs E3 2012 demo was much of what brought attention and hype to this game.
They should have been upfront from the start about what they envisioned. Or at least admitted early on that they won't be able to reach the quality of the E3 2012 demo. The final product is far from was initially shown.
These PC shots are definitely worrying because its' true that it doesn't even compare to the E3 2013 demo too.

Does anyone know if you need PS Plus to play the multiplayer in this game?
I'm not too bothered to go and invade others, but It'd be cool if others invaded me. Reminds me of the Dark Souls days.
Budokai 3 will always be the best DBZ game by far.
News: Hideo Kojima uses a toilet to take a crap in.
Why is dualshockers begging for hits in this article that features a silly excuse for a non-story. Not to mention desperate enough to use that picture to attract hits.
Hideo Kojima always tweets about work and just some tweets of brainstorming is not worthy enough to write a story about.
ME3 is hardly rushed. It's a very polished game that where its gameplay and graphics represented the series' height.
The only major complaint about ME3 was the ending to its story. It left many players confused and fans disappointed. Fortunately, I had the luxury of playing the whole series first time after Leviathan DLC and Extended Cut had come out. Which made the ending much less disappointing in that I actually enjoyed it, even if some stuff didn't make sense....
How does that actually work out for retailers? Wouldn't they need prior notice?
Or maybe they have - since that's why GAME made that tweet...
