Uncharted 2 definitely is a candidate for best game of this generation. But there are also quite a few out there that could dethrone it. Like MGS4, Portal, Braid.
Most people seem to love the games that concentrate on sheer scale or epic cinema style action. I personally think, it's the most creative and original games that deserve to stand on top.
Don't play Twin Snakes. It uses MGS2 gameplay with MGS1 level structure and so everything becomes too easy. Like you can run and shoot in Twin Snakes which makes so many boss battles piss easy like Revolver Ocelot boss. You can also aim and shoot in first person which was not included in MGS1.
Also, the cutscenes are a bit cheesy in Twin Snakes. Like the part where Liquid is walking and somersaulting on the bars.
