Bethesda: We released shit and on top of that it's broken.
Players: Let's protest by playing the game
Bethesda: huh, our concurrent users numbers are really up. They must really love this stuff.
they don't have to subscribe.
never forget horse armor.
@BoneMagnus
"You and I would pay $599, but I don’t think the masses would."
I think that's fine for the early adopters. If they can get the price lowered within the first 2 years, I think $600 launch price is ok.
"we're literally talking about doubling a resolution"
Going from 4k to 8k would actually be 4x the resolution.
We can start playing games within a minute or so right now on PS4 for some games reading off the blu-ray. No reason they can't/won't do the same thing with a HD and SSD setup and be even quicker.
Sure bud, because there's been a whole 4 or so games this gen that needed more than 1 disc at 50GB, so now everything is just going to become 100+?
@TheScotsman
You're getting downvotes because you're using current console SSD performance to the next gen SSD performance which is being claimed to be leaps and bounds better than the current gen as evidence of data transfer speeds over USB will be fine.
@gerbintosh
"Did anyone not pay attention when Sony stated that a lot of the game disc install is for the same assets on multiple parts of the current hdd in order to speed up loading. With ssd's the install for games should go down."
Sure, that's why they're using 100 GB discs now, because the size of the installs will go down.
Or they can have the SSD for "installed" games and have a separate drive for mass storage that you just move over to the SSD when you want to play it.
They're still doing RDR2 DLC right? So that's game 1 and the rest are probably working on what's next, probably GTA.
It's an interesting concept, but I think it's just going to wind up being something you don't really notice after the novelty of it wears off. I just hope it isn't another thing to drain the battery.
It isn't 2020 yet.

Then you're really missing out.
The higher damage and chance of Maliwan is what makes up for the charge time. There's some weapons out there that are just insane with their elemental damage. The pistols and snipers (snipers in general for BL3 seems worthless) are dumb with the charge time, but some shotguns, SMGs, and assault rifles are pretty damn good.
Regardless, the charge time is annoying.
I was expecting some testing and stats showing evidence.
Gameboy?
Perfect timing.
