The stress meter only goes up when he's in the heat. WHen he goes back in the shade, it goes down.
Other factors like nearby explosions and gunfire raise the stress meter.
When the stress meter gets high enough, Snake loses it abit, he'll take slightly more damage and his accuracy will be cut in half, as well as having more recoil while firing and trembling while trying to hold the gun in first person mode.

At TGS, they had it set to Normal, and almost no one was able to get through it without dieing/getting shot alot.

Why do people keep saying they have jaggies?

If you follow the Kojima report: Metal gear Solid 4 DOES come with Online play, then later on in the Year, Metal Gear Online will come out as a PSN download for 20 or so bucks.The download is basically an expansion packs with more maps, gamemodes and character customizations.

Having owned Daxter and the GoW:COO demo, Wii owners are very lucky. These guys are top notch developers.
