If the Wii was an upgraded Gamecube and the WiiU is an updraded 360, will Nintendo ALWAYS be a whole geberation behind Microsoft and Sony from now on?
Makes me sad just thinking about it - I remember the days when Nintendo lead the way in home console power...

Sony have said themselves that they won't allow themselves to be caught off guard this time.
Sony have had a PS4 in development for YEARS. These companies start as soon as the last one is out the door.
Sony must be just revising the hardware each year to stay relevant - that way, as soon as M$ announce the 720, they they are, ready to go.
That console is too small to contain any real significant power. PS3 power, not much more.
It it were a true next gen console in terms of power, it would be at least as big as the original 360/PS3/XBOX

My prediction:
E3 2012 - M$ announces and shows the 720. Its set to come out at the end of the year.
Sony announce the PS4 and show the PS4. Its set to come out by the end of the year.
Nintendo show the WiiU on the 3rd day of E3. No one cares.
I hope PSN on PS4 isn't just playing catch up to Xbox LIVE, but actually surpasses it. I think there is a good chance it can.
Sony must be generous with the RAM this time around.
I'm worried about the direction Rockstar has took Max Paybe 3 in.

No way will M$ pay the exra it would cost to put in a solid state HDD.

Rather than laying down £40 for COD 9 etc... why not lay down £20-30 for an update for COD 8 that gives you all the content of COD 9 but as a download for COD 8?
A lot of people are claiming that we won't see a 720 announcement at E3 this year because the 360 and Kinect are still selling well.
True, they are still selling - but for how long? Kinect has very little quality support, the sales have slowed, I think M$ know that Kinect has only a couple of years left.
Sony continue to sell the PS2 alongside the PS3. It makes complete sense to sell the 720 alongside the 360.Let the casuals buy the 360 with its Kinec...
