I thought the gap between the 360 and ps3 in 2007 was 7 million.
If i'm right, then M$ have managed to widen the gap in 2008 by a million...
I still feel its very close between M$ and sony.
8 Million isn't THAT much, things can shift, maybe not 2009, the economy will defeat sony, but maybe 2010 things can start to shift for sony.
But by then, M$ will release the Xbox 720, effectively ending the generation and the Xbox 360's 5 year life span...

Maybe its a good thing though. I mean, if the PS3 isn't selling, it makes se4nse to close some factories. They did similar things before the dreamcast got 'dreamcasted' otherwise they'll fload the market with PS3's that arn't selling.
And when the economy picks up, and hopefully the PS3 is still alive - the sony can continue manufacture...

Its clear Nintendo (and their fanboys (what little they have left)) are the real threat to gaming at the moment.
Ultimately M$ and sony want the same things:
great graphics, mature content, and a great online service.
ninty on the otherhand want silly immature, lame assed shovelware to fill their consoles.

While the Xbox 360 is undoubtedly a great machine (when it works lol) compotition is a good thing. Although i do think these are dark times for the PS3 and sony, and i do feel there is a danger for the company and its product, i don't want the PS3 to fail. We need it to fual competition.
If anything, i want the Wii to fail! Nintendo are an affront to gamers! Theya re the real villains here! They threaten to destroy all thaty is great about our noble pasttime! Replacing AAA grap...

sony desperately need the economy to pick up. Otherwise, no one will buy PS3's. And a price cut in these dark times would cripple the mighty black beast.

They are losing money on the PS3. Their entire company is losing money at the moment. They've had to sack some of their work force.

Sony, like many companies are losing money across the board, but they don't have the funds necessary to survive indefinitely. They already took out a loan they are paying back - and that was BEFORE the economy collapsed...
