My Xbox One is in my family room. I stream to the laptop I have connected to my bedroom TV, so I'm not tied to one room. It works, works ridiculously well and is hella convenient.
That said, it's technically just wireless mirroring the Xbox One's display. When I'm streaming, no one can watch TV unless I disconnect the cable box from the One. That, imho, will have to change in order for it to truly matter.
