Sony is doing an admirable job in making the PS3 more affordable however it still needs to make a profit. High profile games will keep the price at $400 for a while. Games like MGS4, Resistance 2, LBP, and Killzone 2 are more than enough to sell systems. A price drop during the slow months of next spring and summer looks more likely.
Could be a fun game with the right songs and downloadable content. It needs to have features that separate it from SingStar. Or maybe I'm wrong and following SingStar, feature for feature is the way to go.
99 cents per song. Although, you can get whole albums for a lot cheaper than retail/itunes store.
DRM free music is the way to go. I've always held off on buying an iPod on account of it. If your interested in DRM free music, check out Amazon. They have DRM free music only. I have quite a bit of music from their store on my PS3. Looking forward to the music/video store and a DRM-less future...and PSP 3000 PSN integration. The PSP is soooo close to being the perfect everything handheld.
I don't think PS3 owners unanimously want to burn Harmonix; plenty of PS3 owners bought Rock Band after all. I agree that Konami has little to offer to Xbox and Wii gamers, however they are only hurting themselves. I'm not saying that Metal Gear Solid 4 should come to Xbox, however as a company its important to diversify your portfolio. Hopefully games like Castlevania (3D fighter) for the Wii is just the beginning.
As always in court cases there is a lot of he/she said he/said. ...
Someone needs to re-write this article after MGS4 and Uncharted have trophy support.
Edit: Also, I wanted to add that it sucks that trophies are not retro active and the vast majority of PS3's back catalogue won't support them. If you are interested in racking up your trophy level (like me) its a bummer you have to start with all new games.
It was sort of limited and it ended in less than 10 minutes. It seems to have a large story component so I feel the game wasn't showing its true strengths. I'm not judging the game yet but I feel the demo wasn't a good reason to spend $10 per episode/ $40 total. I will wait for reviews of a complete build.
Edit: to those people who think I hate the game, I don't. I loved the creepy atmosphere, the film grain and non-stereotypical characters. The enemies were unusual as well as t...
That would be icing on the cake in addition to remote play:-)
Reminded me of golf the way it was held. Tiger Woods 09 anyone?
Might explain why I shunned Playstation products after the PS2 killed the Dreamcast (not that I do now). I feel that the Xbox is almost a spiritual successor to Dreamcast. Anyone else feel that way?
Edit: just so everybody is clear, I am not bashing Playstation products and grew out of my fanboy stage (like many other people do) long ago.
I think that Lord of the Rings was highly influential in the design of SUN, however not a direct rip off. If they reused the characters and actual locations there might be a problem. The screen shots mimic the art direction of the LOTR movies but this might only be for effect only. Too soon to judge. Also, Lord of the Rings is the foundation of every fantasy rpg/action game ever made. Ever read the books...watch the movies...and feel like the action was pulled straight from your imagination? ...
It is STILL the top looking console game though sans hard drive utilization. Bad example of HDD adding to the experience bud. What you failed to mention are the ram disparities of consoles vs pcs. Ram is the main reason why console games will "always" look inferior. Xbox 360 and PS3 have 512 mb of ram...low end PC's these days have minimum 2 gigs. Hard drive installs help with certain game loading functions but not how fast the game loads data at any given second. I will concede tha...
Quake Wars, while not a very good console port on either end, looked better on 360...for what its worth (read: not much). I was very interested in the game BEFORE it came out and discovered it was a dud; for curiosities sake I looked into both versions. Truth be told, I came away impressed that the PS3 version had better online options. The games were developed by two different studios with different ideas of ways to adapt the port for their respective platforms. Textures in the PS3 version a...
Some of the girls looked nice. Others, really should find another hobby. Who am I to judge though? Kudos for making costumes and not caring what other people think. I respect that. Still, I think the vast majority of girls in the gallery would look much better w/out the getup. My favorite: Juan Antonio Alvarez:-P
If it is true that is. Hopefully, Kojima and Hayter can come to terms with their differences in story progression and plot. There was an article about these differences and a particular scenario I won't describe for spoilers sake. Personally, I don't think these two see eye to eye. Maybe its for the best if they don't work together.
Edit: thanks for confirming that DJ. Bubble
That doesn't mean that I won't buy the console version however. The PC usually has the advantage when it comes to visuals. Console owners should, however, expect a game that compares to a mid-level PC. What is wrong with that? PC's have always been the leader in graphics; it only makes sense they will have the better technology and graphics. Do what I do: realize graphics aren't everything. I as well as many others prefer to play with a controller (Xbox 360 controller and DS3 FTW!!!) and have...
I don't see your logic when you don't explain. If you read the article you might guess that the GPU is superior to the CPU for gaming. Of course, I'm simplifying things. Disagree troll...who are you so we can chat?
Actually, I am perfectly capable of taking apart a controller and replacing the battery. The point I was trying to make is that MOST individuals who use internalized batteries will end up throwing them out. Sorry I wasn't more explicit. Not everyone on this site knows how; some websites have better explanations w/ visual illustrations and videos I might add. Asking a simple question I'm guilty of, but not stupidity. If you want to start name calling and calling me a fanboy ...look in the mirr...
I think I know which PC upgrade I'll be making...
Price drops only go so far in helping the bottom line short term. Consoles are long term investments and companies can only subsidize their products in ways that make sense. Sony needs to start making making money on their PS3 hardware; therefore a price drop will happen when they are able to produce them cheaper. They aren't throwing in the towel; that is kind of silly logic. An investment is seen to the end (usually) and Sony won't give up on their (generally) profitable video games/enterta...
