You can make an account via internet browser, pay for gold subscription, download it on your Games for Windows and play online.
With that kind of logic, people wouldn't be able to play online in GfW kind of games (Shadowrun, Universe at War, Uno, Dawn of War 2, etc).

I love Gibson for making such wonderful guitars, but their logic for the lawsuit was simple. GH franchise is on the rise and generates a lot of money. Why not find a stupid reason (clicky sound, wtf?) and sue Activision? A lot of money for Gibson - Activision will still get their income from GH:WT, because it doesn't use Gibson guitar model.
