Having read the article. I agree that offering premium early access to games like World of Warcraft is unacceptable. You can bet those guys that paid for early access on an MMO will go 16 hours straight each day to get ahead of the other players.
The other side of the argument is that adding premium early access to a game gives the publisher an extra steam of income while allowing the gamer to play his/her favorite game early. I don't believe the argument that early acc...
I hate it when it happens right on the secondary objective where me and my team have to wait for it to end to continue.
Remember the hype leading into Cyberpunk 2077 launch? People thought it would be the GOAT.
Great game where the only flaw are the toxic hosts that kick people for the stupidest reasons.
I wish we got dlc for Ratchet and Clank Rift apart. I want more content for that masterpiece of a game.
The moment they implement that option, they will reduce the developers' pay and expect tips to makeup the difference.
There are several reasons that can explain why the game sold less.
1) The game is at a $70 price tag. While many big budget titles are $70 these days, the current economy is making it harder to spend that much these days.
2) The game came out close to Dragons Dogma 2. Many fans of the original Dragons Dogma were waiting for a secuel to the game for years and to them the excitement may have been greater than FF7 Rebirth.
3) Smaller PS5 i...
Glad to see more updates to this gameplay masterpiece.
I believe this started with Tekken 7 when the Elden Ring mod came out. They were shocked by the quality and gave a warning to stop modding the game because people were coming at them asking how to get those characters in the game.
The modders will have to be strategic.
Don't do anything to put yourself at risk.
@Christopher I am just saying it like it is. Most publishers NO longer want to spend 4-5 sometimes even 10 years working on a game before they see a return on investment. If that game ends up flopping then that could put the publisher in big trouble. If a game continues to be played for several years then the potential to monetize those players is much higher than if your players play the game around launch and then drop off for something new.

While we appreciate the single-player games that get released from time to time, based on the daily and monthly active players, live service or multiplayer-focused games dominate the top of the charts between Steam, Playstation, and Xbox.
Based on my search of the top played games, these are my findings:
PSN
Fortnite
Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege
CODMW2
GTA5
EA Sports FC 24
Xbox
This is amazing work.
It's like they are hoping for Activision alone to fund the entire Xbox division. Whoever is in charge of the Microtransactions needs to go. Phil should not be hands-off with Activision as it seems that even though there is a new head, the culture seems to be unchanged.
I believe the reason the PS5 Pro is a thing is because, since the start of the current generation, gamers are used to games offering a 60 FPS mode. Now that we are in the 4th year of the current generation, we are starting to see more games released at 30 fps.
Before I used to think to myself that there is very little incentive to invest in a gaming PC because you can get a 4k 60 FPS experience on PS5 and Xbox series x.
Many gamers like myself now find ...
There aren't enough similarities between Palworld and Pokemon for Nintendo to go after them.
Palworld has mechanics that were never done in Pokemon since those games came out in the 90s.
All I want is a performance mode.
Guys many of you have a bad habit of looking at a title then you run to the comment section. Whenever someone has a controversial headline, it is always good practice to read their argument before commenting because many of you are not arguing against why Micheal Pachter believes the exclusive business model is outdated.
It's no surprise software sales were better in March compared to February. There were some strong releases such as Dragons Dogma 2 and Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. Arrowhead has been very active with content and event updates in Helldivers 2 which is live service done right.
It seems the sale on Hogwarts Legacy gave the game a second wind as it still managed to score in the top 10. $30 on steam and $35 on PSN.
All consoles also saw an increase in units s...
Did you read where I said offering early access for mmos is unacceptable?
I personally have no issue with early access for single player games or games where it won't give the richer players an advantage. As long as the person who chose to pay extra for it understands that there may be server issues and that they may not get the most polished experience if a day one patch is planned.
