People complain too much instead of just playing games, there are plenty available no matter what platform you prefer whether 1st or 3rd party. Of the 3 major platforms Sony has produced the most 1st party content, that has to count for something. I think alot of these articles are written to justify the writers employment.

@MadLad ithas nothing to do with making a shooter "that can compete". Even if Sony was prolific at making shooters that does not address the problem of allowing Microsoft to buy up 3rd party publishers in order to control the market.
I agree Aloy, Sony will be fine even if Microsoft takes the nuclear option regarding COD. Its the next move(s) the industry should be worried about. I believe Microsofts intention is to buy up as many publishers as possible, and devalue the market by giving games away for free on their subscription service in order to price the competition out of the market.
Sound the alarm now while Microsoft has just begun their plans to buy up as many publishers as possible to drive competition out of the industry. They have stated themselves that they will not stop in this effort, kick up as much dust as possible making their next power play that much harder.

Microsoft/xbox is by far the worst most incompetent publisher in industry. They're a big bloated tasteless corporation who is using they're unearned dominance in one market to undercut another. Only a company as incompetent as Microsoft could spend 10s of billions of dollars over the course 5 years and still have no notable games releasing this year or last. Microsoft is bad for the gaming industry, always has been always will be.
Why would Nintendo launch new hardware? The switch keeps on selling like crazy and their fans are looking for fancy graphics etc. Milk that cow tell it runs dry. It's all profit at this point.
