Yes, make the game early so you can provide both ps4 and ps5 players with great games early in the ps5s life cycle during the transition to a new platform.
It was a trade off, a game built for the ps5 that was ment to fully exploit its capabilities wouldn't be released within the 2nd year of the ps5 or the 1st year as the game was supposed to be. I believe the next wave of first party exclusives will be ps5 exclusive.
Can't be considered a "leak" if it occurs every month right on schedule. Lol
@Hofstaderman the copium on display by the xbox community these last couple of days is hilarious. We were all sold on the idea that the deal passing regulators was inevitable.
@Pete we thank you for your concern for us poor playstation gamers. You've gone the extra mile here quoting judgments from failed law suits to make your point. Thanks for looking out. Lol
@darth, Sony bought their way to the top lol, how, prove it. Ive likely been gaming longer than you. If it is so easy why hasn't Microsoft been successful for 20 years in this space? I know why because Microsoft with all the money in the world is a creatively bankrupt company with no style to attract a bigger audience to their platform. They've wasted the current gen selling gamers on "value" as if gamers are shopping at Costco, lol. Now their latest desperate move is to try...
@digit so because Sony makes great games they should have no problem with Microsoft buying every 3rd party publisher? Is that your argument?
What a trash article, he actually calls Phil Spencer a "beautiful human being". Lol. N4g monitors comments for "console warring " and "trolling " yet you permit what is essentially a console war trolling article to be presented as an opinion piece. If I posted some of garbage that is in this article with a few minor changes, those comments would be flagged. Do better.
@Lifexline doesn't matter, the lawyers are not prophets who can know the future. This is clearly not what Microsoft anticipated happening, they may have thought concessions would be necessary but the real possibility that this deal falls through or might involve extensive litigation was not in their thinking if they gave spring 2023 as a target date.
@rlow1 you guys focus too much on Sony, they're really only a 3rd party to this issue. Microsoft will have to answer to the concerns of these regulatory bodies on the merits. Whining about how unfair Sony has or hasn't been in the console space will not win the day for Microsoft. There has been a move recently to reign in the excesses of these mammoth tech giants who mindlessly try to use their huge wealth to buy their way to success in smaller industries to avoid the hard work and ti...
@Lifexline If the ftc blocks this acquisition and sues Microsoft in court it will take years to resolve this issue through litigation. Microsoft only viable path to resolve this issue sooner should the block occur would be to seek a compromise with the ftc that would involve I'm guessing serious concessions. This is just the ftc they still are under the gun with the eu and cma. None of this was anticipated by Microsoft.
Cool story sweendog, lol.
Yes lets just make stuff up: returnals plays exactly like gt7 which plays exactly like astrobot rescue mission which plays like Ragnarok which plays like demons souls.if the dope who wrote this article is having trouble finding enough variety then the problem is his as sony first party and a whole host of 3rd party offer variety. If you dont like sony games, dont buy them, its that simple. Guys big claim is that he's been gaming since the ps1, big deal, some of us have been gaming longer ...
@gangsta Sony worked hard and focused on development to make ips like god of war as successful as they are today. Look at how some of the franchises like uncharted sold on the ps3 to see how far they've come. Microsoft was never that invested in creating games that would attract people to their console, all their most popular franchises were produced and made big by other developers. They just don't have the financial incentive to as the other 2 platform holders do.
Low effort is unsurprising when xbox's balance sheet means nothing to Microsoft as a whole. It means so little that Microsoft can hide and obfuscate xbox's number with little concern from investors. Microsoft doesn't need xbox to be successful like Sony and Nintendo need to be successful. That's why they essentially took a decade off without seriously investing in their 1st party studios.
Legend of talking alot
Jim Ryan unlike the blabber mouths representing Microsoft rarely speaks and if does he is saying exactly what his legal representatives are instructing him to say regarding this issue. Seems to be working so far, Microsoft is making concessions I doubt they would have saved for the worry their purchase may fall through.
Another " we're trying to save the industry by buying everything" nonsense from Microsoft. Jim Ryan gets attacked the moment he says anything eventhough he rarely ever speaks. Spencer and Mr.Turtle here never shut up, it's just endless spin.
It was mid-ps3 generation when Sony started to really invest in their own 1st party games, learning that they could no longer rely on 3rd party exclusives to carry them like with the ps2. Alot of the games like final fantasy were now multiplatform, appearing on the 360 and in alot instances running better.
Well I guess that settles it. Lol
