@Orchard, your opinion is duly noted.
Nobody knows exactly what good guy Phil does to earn his salary, certainly not managing their game studios efficiently. Maybe he's paid for his endless platitudes about everyone being nice to everyone. Must be nice.
Drop the persecution complex 1nsomniac, I've been around long enough to see both fanbases under the majority of critcism/mocking.
What was the purchase price? Are they looking to alter how this website operates substantially?
@Orchard, Nobody cares whether it's 1st party or not, is it exclusive that's the question. Playstation has FF 16, Spiderman 2, etc etc. I don't see what's so great about what xbox has to offer better than that, besides the much talked about Starfield.
Game looks like a tech demo at this point. Hope they show some substantial game play when we next see it. Love graphically impressive games.
All I got is gt7 (which I haven't played) but I'll buy horizon and a few more games closer to launch.
When vr is great nothing else in gaming can match it.
The article's argument is based on the economy heading into a recession, which is kind of dumb. If you are looking to save money you don't buy either console as they are not a necessity of life. The ps5 will outsell the series consoles more than they did in 2022 as supply constraints are over.
@darth, For real, all I need is an astro bot rescue mission 2.
And put the games where? On Xbox where the community by and large don't by games.
@thesoftware yes its the fevered dream of most of the xbox community to see Sony somehow boxed in by this attempted acquisition by Microsoft.
The xbox community is again getting over confident about what is going to happen. The reality is these deals are more than likely to fail if they've gone this far down the road with regulators.
@ganstared it has nothing to do with whether or not the acquisition would create a monopoly. Why do people keep saying this? The only issue being decided is whether the deal would create less competition in the market which in theory includes a whole bunch of possible scenarios as result of the deal.
You're misunderstanding Orchard. What Microsoft is saying is that they will force the FTC to seek injunctive relief in court if the cma and EU grant approval with or without concessions.
@Lifexline, thankfully your way of thinking is not the way regulators see things. You clearly have no interest in a realistic assessment of what is legal and what is not. Simply stating this or that is "legal" doesn't make it so.
The ftc stated the obvious, during the course of civil litigation the parties will be open for proposals for settlement. It's the concessions that Microsoft is willing to offer that will determine if a settlement is reached. I think what happens with the EU and cma will largely determine what if any deal is reached with the ftc. My personal preference is that the deal is shot down or the required concessions are so onerous that Microsoft backs out. I don't want to see anymore consolid...
@SPEAK you can deny reality all you want but you are the exception. Microsofts entire pitch the last 5 years is that you don't have to buy games on Xbox just subscribe to gamepass. The Xbox community has largely adopted this thinking they say it all the time "I don't buy games anymore, I'll wait for it to come to gamepass ".
@crazy, Microsoft is not interested in innovation/creativity when it comes to gaming. I don't think they even real care about gaming in general, they only want to cram into their existing subscription/service model.
Who's buying a ps5 only to buy a psvr2? Lol. The tech isn't cheap, and the system is on the lower end of the premium models available. It's not ment for mass market adoption right out of the gate.
