@stloony, the review is detailed and well eexplained.
@Eternal, "violent Zelda fans", lol.
Bring back killzone (maybe in 3rd person perspective)
"Disruption blah blah play anywhere blah blah blah blah be the type of gamer you want to be blah blah." Where are the games Philip? Lol
@Zeref, all of Microsoft's biggest ip were purchased from a 3rd party, not created in house. Halo, Gears, Forza etc all purchased. Only recently has there been a move by Microsoft to buy up whole publishers but it's the same thing essentially.
Guy talks way too much for a man in his position, it's embarrassing how unprofessional/casual he behaves. He talks like the xbox mantra of "play anywhere" is somehow incompatible with making great games for their own platform. It's weird.
@Obscure you can deny reality all you want, but at this point playstations got nothing to prove. Spiderman 2/FF16 will release to great excitement, sell millions of copies and drive already high console sales through the roof. While Phil Spencer continues to apologize endlessly for xbox poor quality/lack of AAA games as the faithful keep paying for low-effort.
@Knush, they've been on the floor for over a decade, lol. Sometimes people don't want to listen until after what was predicted is actually proven correct.
@Pork, I understand your point. But the author does get what Phil was trying to say. Microsoft talks alot about their ecosystem, play anywhere blah blah blah. But that is just how you deliver the content or make it accessible and has nothing to do with the quality of the content itself which the author identifies correctly as being the priority. The decline of the xbox brand can directly be atrributed to their failure to produce great AAA games to attract people to the platform, whether or n...
@SICK, I actually don't believe good guy Phil is actually capable of assessing what is a good game or good game development.
@Pete many regulators around the world have expressed regret on how easily they have approved these deals in the past. The problem Microsoft is going to have is that this appeal is going to be on very narrow grounds.
Why are we hearing about this, who cares? This whole thing has gone well past crazy.
The problem is that Microsoft doesn't genuinely care about gaming in and of itself, unless they can control it and make it apart of their larger company wide goals. Spencer talks like he frequents n4g/era/neogaf/ comment sections which is absurd for a high level executive like himself. Sony/Nintendo ain't trying to control the world, they're just trying have a profitable business by providing consistently great content for their customers. Listen to Nintendo/Sony executives and th...
@Rpg, I don't know about that felt like they have determined that that deal is done.
Phil must have been into the sauce before this interview, he was all over the place. Seemed defeated.
@luckytrouble just becuase a game sells "well" doesn't mean piracy had no effect of course it does. Lol. If you can't steal a game, you'll have to buy it, meaning more sales, right. Lol
Microsoft and ABK have really gone off the rails in their comments and attitude towards the cma decision. There is a huge sense of entitlement underpinning their comments that's really ugly, needlessly.
@Obscure, Sony is starting from a place of zero which requires a big initial investment to establish themselves in the live services market.
@Alexious, no they said that they wanted to guard against Microsoft growing even more dominant in the cloud space than they already are and stiffle potential new entrants from breaking into the market in the future.
Nope, that would be demons souls for me.
