I have to agree with you two, if you can't hit level 15 (or 20) in WoW within a couple of hours then you seriously fail at gaming. Not to mention that with Cata all the early content got revamped and each zones quests are strung together so you no longer feel you're picking up random generic quests any more, you feel like you're following through a storyline (which you are LOL).
I hit the "Level 15 Syndrome" when I hit level 58 and went to Outlands LOL
The day MMOs become mainstream on consoles is the day they will be ruined for the PC.
"The massive world of Azeroth, inhabited by all sorts of interesting creatures, from orcs to night elves to draenei (read: nerds)..."
After reading that gem you can guess the direction of the article and not bother reading it since, inevitably, there is a HUGE bias towards not liking WoW.
Ignore this article, go find one that has little or no bias, at least then you get a more true idea of what it's like.
I'll reserve judgment until it's released. Some of us do remember being at the GDC in 2005 and seeing the presentation for Spore, all the hype, all the promise and the sheer amount of options available to the user. What we got instead was so bad and stripped to the bone that it was sickening ... even more so when they immediately announced the first content "expansion" was coming out 2 weeks after the game was released.
This is why games don't sell as we...
Yeah I thought that was funny too. When I bought my new car I test drove 3 or 4 others, each I was allowed to try before I bought, for days at a time.
I think just about everybody tries products before they buy them, that's actually the smart thing to do and is encouraged by just about everybody. In fact it's plain stupid NOT to try something before you buy it.
Anyway, as soon as I saw the "author" of the article state he is totally against ...
The notion of "voting with your wallet" is one of those ideas that sound good on paper, but in practice doesn't work. Simply put, if enough people refuse to buy a given game that makes the publishers stand up and notice that their latest iteration of a franchise has sold badly, what do you think they'll do? I know, you THINK they will take a long hard look at themselves and the games they release and turn over a new leaf and release decent, finished, bug-free games .... Wake...
DLC cannot be put on a list of games to look forward to.
@Whitenoise - You never played Halo on the PC then, or the later titles in the GTA series ;)
Although Sidar is a little abrasive with his comments he does have one very valid point buried in there. Most of us, at some point in our lives, have pirated something. To what level it doesn't matter, some did it once of twice and never did it again, others took it to extremes and pirated everything all the time. The fact remains we all did it at some point, thankfully some have more of a conscience and stopped.
I myself admit I have pirated things throughout the years. ...
"I all ready pay 60$ for a game.I am not going to keep on paying i think its a ripoff."
That's like saying I paid $2000 for my TV, I'm not going to pay Comcast $100 a month to watch stuff on it!! LOL
I was like you, once. I missed out on so many good games because I outright refused to pay to play a game I'd paid money for. Just like Panthers (the poster above you) I gave WoW a try, partly to keep in touch with some friends who did play after I moved and partly because you got 30 days free with the game on purchase.
At the end of the day if I didn't like it after the 30 days I didn't have to continue to play, all I'd be out would be the price of a game (ba...
The list isn't bad, nothing I've not read before really. Take this list for example.

The laughable thing is, back in the day, players begged Blizzard for features to make getting groups together to run instances and raids easier. All but the most hardcore guilds begged Blizzard to ditch 40 man raids since only a handful of guilds could actually pull off the insane amount of work required to get 40 players together at the same time and co-ordinate them through a raid. Players begged Blizzard to make the leveling of new toons quicker (especially for people who had already hit m...
For Kinect to be viable for use on the PC M$ will have to tweak it a LOT. Currently, with the 360, you need to stand something like 6 feet away to use it properly, this is not going to happen with a PC that's for sure.
Most of us knew this a long time ago, those who didn't should have known if they've been keeping up with all the Kinect hacks with M$ saying "Kinect for Xbox 360" in their statements regarding them. If the device was only for the XBox 360 then they wouldn't have to use the "for XBox 360" tag when talking about it ;)
As did I ... The guy in front of my snagged the last 50 inch TV for $398!!
I'm with the masses, the article is pathetic to say the least. In part due to what she says, but also due to how she says it.
How can she say the PS3 is a deal you should pass up!? Seriously, during any other time of the year you buy a PS3 for $300 with NO GAMES OR MOVIES. Right now you can get bundles which include a couple of games and a movie (best I've seen includes Uncharted 2, Modnation racers, Karate Kid movie and another movie I can't remember right now). ...
Does this Patrick Soderland even play games? Seriously. Anybody who's used onlive and have a high end gaming machine (like myself) can tell the difference straight away. Onlive doesn't really come close to what a high end gaming machine can do, hell a mid-ranged gaming machine looks a lot better than what Onlive can do.
It's sad they have to resort to lies in order to sell a service, but when you have something that really can't compete you have to come up wit...
It's no wonder games get banned or given 18 or AO ratings if that is what people constitute to be a "sex scene". Aside from the fact they didn't take all their clothes off, there isn't even anything else going on to even suggest they did anything but kiss.
It's guys like the one who wrote the article that have helped to ruin the gaming scene. If idiots like him didn't buy all the DLC, just because he likes the shiny achievement or happy feeling he gets from spending money, then perhaps it wouldn't be as prevalent or maybe it'd be cheaper ... or hell, maybe it'd have just gone away. But no, there are multitudes of people like this guy who'll buy anything and thus the milking of all that was good continues :(
