I bought my PS3 because I wanted a blu-ray player, considering it was in a similar price bracket as the decent blu-ray players (and it's rated as the best), it was an obvious choice. I did want a console at the time too, so combining the 2 at a steal of a price was a no brainer :)
Totally agree with you. I used to be a staunch fan of Epic and the Unreal franchise, but such terrible released as Unreal Tournament 2003 (which Epic themselves admitted was a mistake) soured it. UT 2004 was the best in the series ... then they figured they cater to the console crowd and release UT 2007 (excuse me, UT3, stupid console renaming BS). UT3 totally and utterly sucked on the PC and was a slap in the face to all loyal fans.

I was looking for a BluRay player, they were $200+ for a decent one. Given that the PS3 had just had a price drop to $300 it was a logical choice ... plus I no longer had a games console so I would be buying one eventually. So I killed two birds with one stone :)
So I'm in the same camp as Logosz (same age too!) in why I bought my PS3, I too don't buy tons of games ... with a family to take care of some things are more important so I only buy a few ones I like.
I'm ok with XMB, not a huge fan of it so don't mind if it gets changed. I do think some of the options need to be condensed and other redundant options removed. For instance combine Music, Video and Photo into one option called Media.

Until the entire world has high speed (and by high speed I mean HIGH speed, not 10, 20 or 50 meg ... higher than that) brandband connections digital download only will always be held back. Nobody wants to sit and wait for hours for a game to download, like I did the other night downloading Portal. I have a 12 meg connection and it still took a couple of hours downloading at max speed!

The game may not be "released" yet, BUT it has been finalized and has gone gold. Right now factories are pumping out millions of copies and shipping them all over the US so that stores will have them ready for the release date.

I totally agree with you. Sadly the later never happens, a game gets delayed so they can "iron our kinks and perfect it", but, more of than than not, we STILL get an imperfect release. Either way we loose.

Wow IS accessible to everyone, more so now than ever before. Back in the vanilla days WoW was not accessible to everyone with only the die hard people getting into raids at all. These days all you need to do to raid is hit level 80 (can be done in a few months doing quests alone, no dungeons or boosting by other players), then just run the Argent Tournament dailies to get gear. Not sure why people are disagreeing with this comment. There was an article just the other day stating that card number 68 was missing. And given that the cards are NOT available anywhere to anyone it doesn't take much to reach the logical conclusion that, if this is legit, that card is the stolen card 68.
