Errrr, Ninja Gaiden II was published by Microsoft Game Studios, they just don't own the IP.
In fact, I thought it was strange then. Tecmo normally publishes the Team Ninja games. But that time, out of the blue, Microsoft came in to publish Ninja Gaiden II seemingly for no good reason.
EDIT:
I've got it.
MY THEORY ON WHY MICROSOFT GAME STUDIOS PUBLISHED NINJA GAIDEN II
Microsoft published Ninja Gaiden II as part of the deal ...
I have to agree with ExgamerLegends2 in post 4.1. Difference isn't minor, the difference is major. Online co-op fundamentally changes a game. On top of that there is a bunch of missions for said online co-op, and 3 extra characters for us to play those online co-op missions with. Characters that were not in Ninja Gaiden II. When you all of the other tweaks, fixes, extra enemies, weapons, new boss characters, enemies from other Ninja Gaiden releases, new phases in the campaign it qualifie...
Actually the PS3 version is called "Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2."
@El Botto,
Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 (Playable Ayane for the Crushing Victory), is the definitive version of all Ninja Gaiden(s) to date, not just Ninja Gaiden 2. It is the cumulation of Ninja Gaiden/Black, Ninja Gaiden 2, Ninja Gaiden Sigma, AND Ninja Gaiden:Dragon Sword. That is why it has elements from all of them. It will have characters and/or enemies that were only previously seen in each of them.
@Murderdolls
DOA characters no one cares about???????...
Kleptic,
I'm sure its not as simple as just cut the price to the be equal to the 360. The other fact is that there is a lot of new hardware in a PS3 that is not in an Xbox 360, and that hardware is of better quality.
Multiplats are always going to be equal because of the forumula that developers use to make them. They deliberately set out to make them look equal across all platforms.
I agree Sony should do what they can to get the cost of the PS3 do...
I've been saying for a couple of weeks now that Sony should not cut the price until they can afford to cut the price to within $50 of the Xbox 360.
They have to anticipate a retaliation from Microsoft if the cut the price, and they can not afford to cost $300 while the 360 is costing $200 with hard drive.
However, I do believe that these constant rumors of price cuts are pinning up some sales. They may want to consider some meaningless price cut just to stop the r...
Forza looks good, not quite as good as GT5, but that's a very high bar. Forza 3 still looks very, very, good.
Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 just a rehash of Ninja Gaiden 2???? Is this true? Let's see what it has to offer.
The complete Ninja Gaiden 2 campaign.
A fixed Camera.
New Weapons
New Enemies
Old Enemies (EDIT: "Old" as in enemies that were in previous Ninja Gaiden versions but not in NG2)
New Boss Enemies
A fixed Camera (That is worth saying again)
New Missions
New campaign material from not 1, not 2, but 3 extra characters.

Sony already does and will continue to have a better line up in 2009. Its a lock.
Killzone 2 and MLB:The Show have already come at 9 on Metacritic. Uncharted 2 and Ratchet will as well, and Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 probably will also (playable Ayane for the Crushing Victory). That's 5 games. Plus You have Infamous which was worth a 9 from both Gamestop and IGN, but only has a Metacritic of 8.5(as if that somehow means it isn't AAA but for the sake of argument I'll go along), and ...
We disagree here. I think that spending money to own new IP's is a more wise move than spending the same amount of money to have people make games that you don't own. What's wasteful is spending money on stuff that you don't own; in the long run you will have nothing to show for it.
So far this year I count 3 triple A titles for PS3
Killzone
Infamous
MLB: The Show
and 0 triple A titles for 360.
But keep in mind that Sony is suppo...
Solid, Liquid, Solidus, Naomi, Otacon, Sunny, Vamp, Ocelot, Eva, Mai Ling, Meryl, Akiba, Big Boss, Boss, Gray Fox.....Raiden.
Yeah, I hadn't thought about it, until now and although I wouldn't say he was a bad character, Raiden probably is the worst character in the MG universe, or at least tied for it. However, let me reiterate that I don't think he is a bad character. There are no bad characters in the Metal Gear Universe. The only thing bad about the Metal Gear universe wa...
YES!!!! I'm there!!!! As soon as it is available I'm buying it.
There is no way MAG is going to sell as many copies as Modern Warfare 2, but then nothing else will either. MW2 is going to sell more copies than Halo:ODST, so I don't think anybody is going in expecting this game to sell more or as much as MW2. This looks to be a bit of a straw-man argument.
If you don't know, A straw-man argument is when a debater creates a weak false opponent, the straw man, in order to defeat that opponent in efforts to make his position or himself look good...
Killzone 2, MLB: The Show, Infamous
+
Uncharted 2, Ratchet & Clank, Demon's Souls, MAG, Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2(playable Ayane for the crushing victory).
3 plus 5 is 8, PS3 is getting 8 exclusive AAA titles this year, and Tokyo Game Show hasn't even made it yet. So if we do indeed get a GT5 announcement that'll make 9. I don't have the money to buy all of that, nor do I have time to play it. Some of them had to be pushed back because they were going ...
Enough, Enough, ENOUGH!!! I thought we were done with this crap. Now we will have more Metal Gear Solid announcements, and worse than that, we're gonna get more speculation of what the Metal Gear announcements will be.
Just say what you're gonna say and be done with it already.
This is pure pimp game. The compromising of the PS3 FXIII is already happening; it's implicit in their underlying approach to the game. He said and I quote,
"The team is targeting to create an equal experience on both the 360 and the PS3, so there are no limitations."
That like saying, "I wouldn't hit you if I didn't love you." The sheer fact that they set out to create an equal experience on both systems means that they are compromising. Ther...
Still the most difficult achievement in gaming has no trophy. That is beating Ninja Sigma in Master Ninja mode.
This comment posted in the wrong place. I was intended to be a reply to post #6. Specifically it is a response to the part where he says that they (Kojima Production) intended to make the game look as good a possible on both platforms. I responded by saying that, it is not possible, yada, yada continued in my post above.
How do you know that FF (I assume that you mean FFXIII) isn't gimped?
Sigma 2 also has old enemies from prior iterations of Ninja Gaiden that were not present in Ninja Gaiden II. It has enemies from NG:Dragon Sword on DS, that is where Momiji comes from by the way. It has enemies from Ninja Gaiden/Black that were not in Ninja Gaiden 2. It has a character from Sigma, Rachel, that was only playable in Sigma. Hayashi-san said that he wanted Sigma 2 to be the definitive summation of all Ninja Gaiden games, not just a re-make of Ninja Gaiden II.
