So why are they removing the component cables that used to come with every Xbox?

They are trying to cut cost pure a simple. This line about choice is pure pimp game. It just like saying, "I wouldn't hit you if I didn't love you."

In honor of this pimp game Microsoft is running on the public, I will now say a few lines of the greatest pimp rapper of all time, Too Short..... BTW, You children won't remember this.

Heavenly Sword is worth picking up.

However, If you can only get one game get Valkyria Chronicles.

You should only buy Ninja Gaiden Sigma or any Ninja Gaiden game if you are the hardest of hardcore hack and slash players.

Comparing Uncharted 2 to a new 360 title would be just as unfair. Impossible is impossible. It just is what it is.

I just want to point out that Killzone 2 HAS NOT had the benefit of a Christmas season yet.

Comparing the sales of a game that has a Christmas season with those of a game that has not had a Christmas season is not comparing apples to apples.

This is quite impressive. Suddenly, a PS3 is cheaper than an Xbox 360.

X360 - $300
Xbox Live - $50
Plug and Play kit with recharageable Battery Pack - $30
Halo 3 (or Halo:ODST they have the same Multi-player) - $60

TOTAL COST FOR A 360 1 GAME - $440

OR

PS3 - $300
Killzone 2 - $30
MGS4 - $30
Uncharted 2 - $60
1st PSN game (Flower perhaps) - $10
2nd PSN game - $10

TOTAL COST FOR A P...

You forgot the rechargeable battery pack or the rechargeable AA batteries + charger, either way that is another $20 to $30.

I wouldn't call it desperate I would just call it smart business....or at least kind of smart business. This is not a real price cut. The standard Xbox 360 is still going to be $299.

I don't think that a 360 will sell as many units as a PS3 if they are both the same price. So in that respect I think that not cutting the standard, with-hard-drive price is a mistake by Microsoft, if marketshare is their goal.

However, if profit is their goal, then this is the righ...

Can you give us exact numbers on that.

An Xbox 360 costs more to maintain than a PS3.

The Xbox 360 needs either rechargeable batteries with charger($20), or a rechargeable pack with charger ($30), or a plug and play cable ($20) as soon as you take it out of the box.

A PS3 doesn't need anything in order to play it.

Both need HD cables, both come with only one controller.

So basically, the PS3 has no PS2 BC because the PS2 is just a beast of platform that crushed all of its competition and is still doing very well.

---Therefore, Sony deems the PS2 to big to kill off yet.

I wonder if 3.0 will have Makostra (.mkv) support. That is what I want.

Microsoft is going to cut the price of the Xbox 360 in-kind.

6106d ago 2 agree2 disagreeView comment

This is a joke, right.

A game with the Halo name on it is going to sell millions.

Again, this is an incomplete number. We need to know a time period to go with this number. Is it 12 months?, 18 months?, 2 years?

Personally, I think that 54.2% 360 failure rate has to be at about 9-12 months. I say this because I don't a person who kept an Xbox for 18 months without it completely breaking. Here I define completely breaking as "the 360 will no longer play a game at all." This does not count the 360's that scratch all the games that you put in it....

It probably will happen like this. Ask yourself what makes the most money for Sony? If the PS3 Slim releases for for $299 along with the price cut of the existing units, there will be no reason to buy the old units. The old SKU's will be left unsold, and Sony will take a loss on them.

But if the Slim debuts at $399 and the current 80GB sku gets cut to $299, the market will still recognize this as a price cut and the 80GB sku will sell out. Moreover, the people who like to alw...

I don't want Heavy Rain to come out this year. I already don't have enough money to buy all the games that I want this year, even after I account for all the games that were pushed back to 2010. I literally want to buy $400 - $500 in games this Christmas.

Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 (Playable Ayane for the CRUSHING VICTORY)
Uncharted 2
Demon's Souls
MAG
GT5
Tekken 6
Dragon Age

7 X $60 = $420

Notice that I didn't say Ratchet ...
