Actually, Microsoft made such a gross violation of gamer's rights that Sony looks like a hero for simply doing what they have always done in regards to used games. Microsoft pissed-off gamers so much that Sony had their permission to charge for online without negative feed back. Microsoft basically gave them a get out of jail free card, and Sony cashed it in.

Cross game chat is built into the hardware on the PS4. There is a separate chip on the board just for chatting, sharing etc. Your friend can actually watch you play a single-player game.

Sooo, the PS4 and Xbone get FFXV, and all the people who bought PS3's anticipating FFvsXIII get...FFXIII-3.

Stuff like this almost make me glad my PS3 got stolen.

Hey if Call of Duty thinks it's so much better than Battlefield and Killzone that they can afford to keep the gamers from trading them back, then be my guest.

It's not a problem if it is done at the publisher level. There will always be some publisher who will allow their games to be freely traded so that they can capitalize on the mistakes of others. Natural competitive forces of the market place will crush it to nothingness.

The problem comes ...

Probably so, but what does it matter? There are going to be about 25 Xbox Ones to actually get sold. After the @$$ kicking that the Xbone got last night. Let them have this.

I hope so, but my hopes are not high.

I have never seen such a waste of a franchise.

And at 9:42PM CST, June 10, 2013, the PS4 won its generational battle against the Xbox One, also called "Xbone".

It was over before it started.

I know this is the wrong thread, but Jack Tretton just said that PS4 will support all used games. That they can be traded or lended to a friend. And that they will never need to be connected to the internet. And with that the PS4 / Xbone generation is won by the PS4 before it even started.

Did he? I didn't hear it. I would hope so, seeing as I waited for the game for 7 years anticipating it to be a Playstation exclusive. But I didn't hear him say it (FFXV) was a PS4 or PS3 exclusive. When did he say it?

EDIT:

Not that it matters as long as the Xbone keeps its DRM in the current form and the PS4 doesn't have it at all.

Here's to hope.

Cool but it is all about the DRM. If they keep the DRM, I'm out. It's really that simple.

I'm not sure that the PS4 will ship at $399. It doesn't matter as long as it doesn't ship at more than $499. Even if is ships at $499 like the Xbone. It'll still win out, because of all the DRM the MS is putting on the Xbone games.

Prices are sticky. What that means is that once someone conditions the market to pay a certain price for a product, that producers of that product are resist to lower their price even if they succeed at lowering the cost. <...

This article is delusional. Apparently the author thinks that Sony is going to sit by and do nothing if Microsoft tries to undercut Sony on game prices. The other people here are correct, the author is smoking some very potent dope.

First of all cutting prices is not Microsoft's M.O.
Secondly, if Microsoft sere to cut new game prices Sony would respond in kind, and we would have a price war.

Indeed there is no way that I am buying an Xbone while it is still in its current state.

4716d ago 9 agree2 disagreeView comment

Except that none of the information was false. It was all true, and we all warned MS not to do it, Microsoft is going to do their DRM $#!^ anyway.

4717d ago 1 agree1 disagreeView comment

You should have said "what Microsoft is doing." Sony is not doing anything close to what Microsoft is doing. Muerte2494 is correct. The two companies are not even in the same ballpark as far as used games are concerned.

P.S.

But you are correct in that they article is horribly written.

All Sony has to do is say the disc-based games on the PS4 will work like they do on the PS3. Then they can end the conference. That is all they need to do in order to win the PS4/Xbone generation.

@gamer42 and others

All warfare is based on deception. Unless Sony has been outright lying about the PS4 GameStop will heavily favor the PS4 over the Xbone. But GameStop can not appear to be impartial. They have to appear to be impartial and to carry the Xbone because they want to be seen as a source of information about the Xbone and they want to be the people's first stop for for all things gaming.

But when the people actually go into the store Ga...

This is just common sense. Why would you pay the same price to use a game that you don't own when you could pay the same price and own it free and clear.

If you want to waste your money like that be my guest. But most people are not that loyal to any one company. And they shouldn't be. They have better uses for that money.

Then that's crap as well. If I give a game to my cousin then he can't in turn give it away but he can sell it only to people that Microsoft has deemed worthy.
