Someone on this site convinced me to trade my PS3 60Gb (actually, I convinced myself)for a slim. I might have to hold out for a bit. Maybe there will be a remedy somewhere don the line. There are certain levels in games I like to play again once in a while. I can't plough through from the beginning again.
Translator not working well on this article. A hard read.
Edit:
@ Below. If you mean the 'Driving force GT' or G35, then no that is PS3 and PC/PS3 only respectively. Nice wheels though
@godmars290
Won't be played in its 1st shown form....When did they start shwing actual gameplay. Rolling vistas and a day/night cycle demo does not class as gameplay to me.
Nicuragua - troll no less
I thought Halo 3 theatre was not video caputure. The file were like 3Mb. I was under the impression it was postion/time data, like an extended replay, as you can free fly the camera etc. Or is vid cap a Bungie pro option? Never noticed the feature for vid cap if it has it
If it is the same Charlie on the Inquirer, yes he is very anti Nvidia.
Having said that, Nvidia's press conference was strange. It have the normal 'my product is great' speech, but nothing to back it up. Just a big black piece of plastic. No benchmarks, demos, testimonials, power usage. I don't buy the 'it would hurt our current line'. At $10M revenue, it is not exactly a big earner. I guess they do not know themselves, yet. We will just have to wait and see.
Deep breath. Not nit-picking, but try full-stops/period and comma next time.It will make you fanboy rant easier to read.
I have had 2 RROD since 2005. Do I care? No. It meant a toltal of 2 weeks without a 360, I speant more time with my PC and PS3.
Beofore and after Ifamous it was all 360. When UC2 come out, it will be all PS3, with a bit of Forza sqeezed in. Then hopefully STALKER on PC
As a gamer, I care more about the games, therfore I will alwa...
What are all the phantom disagrees for?
What, I did not have firmware problems in the past?
Don't have a PS3?
Have no classic PS2 games?
Those games I mentioned are not classics. I hunted those down for nothing then.
Should I not wait to see what Sony says before update to 3.01?
Selling my 60Gb fat is not an option?
One of you ghostly figures care to explain.
On my profile I state I had 2 RRODs. I guess I imagined...
That is an option. The PS2 games I have left are the GOW1/2, ICO and SOTC. Good ones though
Edit: and RE4 MGS 2/3
Lucky you...
2.80 did me over. I have updated to 3.00 (not 3.01). I have not put a disk in for weeks. Last game was ifamous...scared to now. Don't want to fire up that laser until a solution is found beofre UC2 release.
It may be only a few people affected, but I do not wish my 60g go poop.
"Ego is a modified version of the Neon game engine that was used in Colin McRae: Dirt and was developed by Codemasters and Sony Computer Entertainment using Sony Computer Entertainment's PhyreEngine cross-platform graphics engine"

Typical Nvidia. After all they said about running C++ on Larrabee and they do the same thing. Just like they did when ATI mention unified shaders. They were no use until Nvidia brought out their own interpretation. Let us see what the consumer part cost [a lot].
Sweet. Hope I will not be forced to install 3.01 I think I will be
Then take your own medicine and stop talking about Forza then.
@Saaking
I don't buy it. Hype may influence your purchase (ODST not really that hyped) but it can't make you keep playing.
ODST:
Games (24h):4,456,731 unique Players (24h):973,217
Halo 3:
Games (24h):2,590,651 unique Players (24h):1,658,734
P.S. are you saying you are a real agmer? going by openzone posts......I guess amyone who does not agree with you is not real game.
Well, they made their version of UE2 there own now.Like valve did with godlsrc based on the quake 1 engine. Even Source still contains quake 1 code, according Carmack.
Edit: good thread
Does every have the time, resources (money) and skill to make their engine? The answer is no, hence middleware. This is not back in the day when you could make a complete game in a few months. Building an engine can be a big risk in this gaming era. Get it wrong it is over. When investing millions, it is all about managing risk. In a perfect world, everyone would build the perfect engine for their game.
Edit: Not defending middle, just pointing out the reality of game dev these ...
Tedaza, Forget it, not worth the effort. He clearly not getting where the article is coming from. The argument he is bringing up is irrelevant to this one (openzone material).
He mentions the Unreal engine is used way to much, but that is the point. LOL
Why? It may be [KZ2] a great engine. But they are talking about licencing not technical accomplishment, therefore nothing to do with what the article is talking about. That was used in one game.
Look at the list for unreal engines. Enough said.

Edit:
Frosbite engine and ND engine, as above
The is list is pretty much accurate is terms of success.
Typical inept remark from you
Why? Because it's graphics are not perfect? Yet they got won't counts right. Fun for all gamer levels; MP, career mode, customization.
However you look at it, it will take more than more and shinier cars to better this game.
