What about PUBG before it? Overwatch? GTAV online?
Thaaat's debatable. Some of the biggest games this gen are MP. SP games will always be popular, but MP games will always be bigger. No SP game is touching the records Fortnite is setting.
It would be dumb for Sony to not license out Audiokinetic. But if you think a slightly better sound quality will win you a gen then you're as silly as the people who thought the power advantage of the X would overthrow ps4...
I would be okay if they went under. I mean, what really are we losing with them? CoD? Bungies contract is up, Blizzard is hemoriging its talent anyway. We already got the Crash remake... sooo?
Honestly, I'd be excited to see what the treyarch/sledgehammer/infinity ward teams would do if they weren't forced to make CoD anymore.
Agreed, easily the weakest of the series for me.
1. Overly long story for no reason. Added a ton of slow repetitive exploration fluff to pad timing.
2. Was too many "lift me up to this ledge and I'll drop a box or rope for you" moments... like back to back to back.
3. Shoved in relationship drama, booo.
4. Forced in brother angle.
5. Bad story telling by introducing a gameplay mechanic in a flashback sequence.
...
2 is easily the worst of the souls games. Don't worry, that's not really an unpopular opinion. Most Souls fans agree it sucks.
Horizon Zero Dawn for me. By all accounts and purposes it should be a game I love. It hits a lot of the checkboxes that I love for open world games and games in general. In almost all RPG's I play as a stealthy archer. I think I found that robot dinosaurs just weren't engaging enough. I'm not a huge fan of robots as enemies anyway so that may be why. Also, some of the mechanics needed work. The stealth made the game incredibly easy and the hand 2 hand combat was very weak. But on ...
That's a shame. I put well over 100 hours into it and loved it all. I do wish they had more traditional dungeons though like the old games instead of the divine beasts.
You only beat it once? The reason it forces you into playing twice right away is because it tells the story from the other bots perspective. Then on the 3rd playthrough you continue the story and things get twisted. To experience everything the plot has to offer you need to play it 3 times. Then you'll understand why people say the plot and story telling are great.
They have never
Lol but I agree. Lately it seems like there are 2 articles a day with his mug slapped up as the cover image.
If there is anyone to blame, it's the game media always clinging on to his every word or tweet like it means big news.
For instance, Sony also made the same statement to Bungie... So where is the article about that? There won't be, because it will rile people up more seeing it coming from Phil.
Yes they left in a rush... after 4 (5 if you count ODST) extremely successful games that put Bungie on the map.
CD2, for me, was only terrible because it felt like it should have just been a DLC or a Mod or something. It used the same map and everything.
CD3, feels much more like a true sequel, while keeping the crazy sandbox gameplay from the first.
Did you confuse this with The Order?
They pulled that due to having to hit certain revenue goals through MT's. You really think a dev would purposely hurt their own game? It was obvious Activision was putting the pressure on to hit goal, forcing Bungie to do what they had to do.
@papabop
Drew left sometime in 2018, so likely the script was mostly written by then. Also Casey Hudson (the executive producer of ME 1-3) is also heading up this project as well.
I have some hope, but I'm not entirely holding my breath due to the nature and past of these types of games.
So they step it up with their new cpu, but put out the meh VII?
Bioware is a shell of what it once was. Even if they left EA it wouldn't magically fix the issues they have
I think PSVR sales are around 3 million right now. That's only about 4% of the player base. And I'd have to assume most of those sales came from previous owners of a PS4. So even if we gave it a generous 1% of new sales because of PSVR we are talking about less than a million. And I'd say that 1% is a pretty generous figure.
