it's not nearly that bad... because it's pure math you can crunch numbers on one side and send results so ping > bandwidth... for 30fps you need under 300ms... that's a natural delay of the game... 60 fps needs 90ms or less
yep... was for rent on PS+
there is at LEAST 2 ways to do everything... many times there are 5 or more ways to accomplish a goal
yes... agree, but if it was blood money people would bitch about it being old
you will never be able to play games that utilize offloading of resources... my guess is the first time they use this it will be for added value and have no effect on gameplay. Sort of how you can dial back post processing effects on your computer
no even 60fps games work fine with real time cloud compute as long as you've got a good connection and decent bandwidth. Even if that's not reasonable (it's not right now) you can use cloud compute on off screen computations like racers who are far away being offloaded and updated every other frame or something of that nature. I expect in 5 years we will be extremely surprised at how much both companies are utilizing the cloud
I'll get on board with second son, but KZ was trash... nice lighting but crappy textures and strange facial animations
bandwidth is less of a problem it's more about ping time... the lag... You're not sending textures to be rendered you're sending pure data to be rendered and sent back i.e. volumetric fog, lighting (yes even real time lighting if the ping and fps match up), some physics crunching
It's already available for use internally.you will start to see a significant increase in overall performance in games
@Koston while you are indeed right that the Twitch is an opinion I think that he's got a more then strong case on this one as for controller... I prefer my XB1 controller over my DS4 and as soon as a real DS4 controller comes out in the same make as a Xbox controller I'll quickly replace my current DS4. Also the XB1 does have better multi tasking... that is a FACT. It can run any application and a game at the same time. The PS4 does not boast this ability.
it's all a matter of perspective
it's his pocket book that's hurt by his decision like hot serving a segment of people at your restaurant isn't good for business
that would be a valid beef... MS would be threatening his lively hood and I total respect the idea to viciously defend your livelihood
@WeAreLegion how much is feeding your family and paying your bills worth?
you seem to be killing your rep just fine by yourself
it could take some time before this happens... the final dotting of i's and crossing of t's need to be done and only God knows when that will be done with all the bureaucratic BS and greasing of palms
you'll find that no amount of searching will find those quotes coming from him... his job is to move forward into the living room all his alleged desire to fold the hardware side of things means nothing... Xbox Live is mostly a software business and the Xbox is just one of the devices that utilize it
Elop doesn't make these kinds of decisions
no, but the new dev kits will help
you work at a web hosting company and you want to, someone how, compare what you're doing to what Microsoft is doing with Azure? They are already doing cloud compute with their servers the only real difference here will be the amount of traffic being used. It's not like we haven't been offloading into the cloud for two decades on MMOs... you're the one who seems to not get it.
