it means more than you can possible fathom... it shows that no matter what Sony does it can never overcome Microsoft in the NA region(the largest) and It keeps that gap from closing until the next major shift. For most developers in the NA and European region the numbers they look at are not World Wide. They look at NA and European numbers in conjuction... Japan is rarely more than a footnote for most Wester developers

I think the Natal lack of announcements is due to Microsoft holding everything for E3. As for the recent leaning towards PS3 there is some logic to it and some strangeness. NFS:Shift was competing again Forza 3 and didn't really have a chance so focusing it for Sony's platform helped them to build up numbers for it. There is history here dating back to Modern Combat demo... when the demo his OXM in the states the Live users crushed EA's servers... no matter how many they put up they couldn't keep up... this seems to happen every time
