If they do 3d then they must also ensure:
- native 1080p
- 60fps (sustained)
- no tearing
- no texture pop-in
- no jaggies
I hate the drop in quality when playing in 3d on the PS3.

I have my doubts about whether or not this could have mass appeal. Gaming is one thing but movies and TV?

Just like most platforms after they have been around for a while there are many great games for newcomers to experience. Its a real pity that no Move dedicated titles made it onto that list. I would love a Star Wars game using Move in some way. Maybe use a normal controller for the explorative/interaction aspects of the game but you have to pic up a Move for lightsabre battles.

I've not played it, the fact is was a subscription based service completely put me off. However, now that its moving to a free model I may check it out but what will this mean longer term for the game? With no revenue coming in from subscriptions will it receive the obviously needed patches/support?

Looks like an improvement over F3. Certainly come a long way visually since F1 on the xbox.

On normal difficulty I completed it in around 7 hours.

Definitely no PS2 game however, the graphics are nowhere near the same standard as other PS3 exclusives.

You keep attacking anyone who presents a different opinion to yours and labelling them a troll. Yet your attacks are laden with facts, figures and comments that in my mind make you a fanboy. Therefore, your as much of a troll as anyone you go out of your way to attack.

Tell me, what did you personally think of R3. What was its strengths and weaknesses in your mind? Prove to everyone you're not just a mindless fanboy.

Still hoping this will deliver as I love the source material on which it is based. Well, everything but that crappy 90's TV series and the equally bad Speilberg movie.

Already heading into work so too late for me. I find myself logging in less and less to the PS store nowadays anyway. Kinda waiting for BF3.

Because a game might change in difficulty dynamically to best challenge the gamer. If its too easy the game increases in difficulty on its own accord. To hard and the game might throw in more health packs, etc.

5375d ago 1 agree0 disagreeView comment

To me selecting different difficulty options needs to do more than change how much health you lose when you're hit or how many hits it now takes to take out an enemy.

Higher difficulty settings should mean harder AI, less resources (ammo, health), open new areas or paths, tougher puzzles, more enemies. You know, all things that would make the game feel and play different if your playing through again on a higher difficulty.

As long as you don't own the latest revision of the PSP.

I hope one or both allow you to manage clans from the O/S and not individually within each game. Beats me why MS don't introduce such a feature and make that part of the paid service and drop the cost to play on-line.

Better end than R2 yes but that does not mean it was not disappointing. The lead up to the end was itself terrible. What was with suddenly getting a gun with unlimited ammo!?!

5375d ago 3 agree3 disagreeView comment

I agree that having health packs is a good thing however they are too easy to apply (you just walk over them) and there were far too many of them. I died 3 times getting through the campaign on normal.

7/10 is borderline too low for this game but its by no means a tripple A either.

I agree the article presents its argument rather heavy handed however, the true cost of psv ownership wont be cheap for anyone wanting the full experience.

I can live with the battery life as I'm most of the time only 60 mins away from a usb port. However, I don't like the need to buy memory cards before you can take advantage of the psv's media capabilities or download from the ps store. To me that's like not being able to take advantage of the xbox marketp...

@buddy:

Please do me the curtesy of discussing the subject and not the person.

I'm glad you enjoyed R3 and up until R3 I had enjoyed the Resistance franchise, even on PSP. R3 simply offered me nothing new. I was going to give it a miss but the IGN review changed my mind.

Its not a broken game and I agree its not the worst game out there but its certainly not as good as some might have you believe. I don't have a bottomless pit of...

@buddy:

I didn't find it incredible at all and although the pit was ok there was nothing really about it that I had not seen before. The AI certainly did not make it a challenge.

The entire single player campaign suffered from a lack of anything new and innovative. I was especially disappointed with the very end where the game gives you unlimited ammo as it broke the rules by which you had been playing up till then.

Guess it will make it a little harder for those with smaller hands to access the buttons to the left of the new controller.
