Microsoft tried everything, EXCEPT for trying to compete fairly using high-quality new IP games. They even made the IPs they took over worse, such as Gears becoming worse once MS fully bought out the IP and we got Gears 4 and 5, or Halo becoming far worse after Bungie left.
Microsoft can't run a first party studio properly.
Tom asks: "Is it time we give up on subscription services and just buy all our games again?"
Who is this "WE" talk? I don't subscribe to services like that, I buy my games, usually on disc, sometimes digitally and I play them. The notion that you even have to ask the question shows how lost you are. STOP SUBSCRIBING TO GARBAGE! Buy good games that are interesting to you, play them. Its a winning formula since the 1980's, don't try to change w...
Only 12 years late. Should have felt this way back in 2013, ya putz. Embarrassing.
Since 2013. 12 years of self-destruction. ☠️
Xbox has been a dead brand to me since 2013. I've spent the past 12 years watching Phil ruin the Xbox division. I'm not surprised by any stupid choices made at this point. Pathetic, let it die.
Indeed. He would love start funding them, release a hype trailer, then cancel the games, and promising that these games being canceled is good for the Xbox ecosystem. 😂
We've seen how Phil Spencer operates. He's done nothing but fail since 2014, I have no faith in anything he says.
One of the worst companies ever, becomes even worse! WOW HOW EXCITING!
Nintendo doesn't care about the actual user experience, all they're doing is enhancing the security behind the scenes, that's what 99% of PS / XB / NS updates are about.
The only odd saving grace is that the cartridge of All Stars is worth a lot these days. I only bought the game for the pin set, but it turned out to be a decent investment as well.
Console generation 1 was literally just Pong (and slight variations of Pong). I'm currently playing Resident Evil 4 remake (beat it 4 times in a row, and now I'm starting over again!) on my PS5 Pro, running at 120hz VRR, and its a great experience.
How can Pong compare to this current generation?
Perhaps its not 'too cheap', but rather everything else is overpriced?
MGS 3's length is not relevant to why it should be pirated. But yes, its somewhat of a disappointment in that it has unacceptable performance issues, and bugs. The game should have been $50 instead of $70, and the collector's edition should have been $150 instead of $200.
I'll pick it up when its $20 on black friday.
Based on the open network test, Sonic Racing Crossworlds is is a lot of fun. So we have a second option now.
Oooh, that's a good deal!
$50 is a good price for the standard edition, but a price like that is only for PC players.
Konami doesn't deserve our money for releasing the game unpolished, and this shameful collector's edition.
Not only is the base game overpriced at $70, it should have been $50, or maybe $60 at most, but they had the audacity to charge an extra $130 for a few pieces of low-grade junk. The steelbook looks nice, but its not enough to get me to spend $200 on it.
Even more sad, scalpers are successfully selling this for $300 on ebay. Enjoy your regret....
Dynasty Warriors is by Koei Tecmo.
Played 5 races so far, its been chaotic fun. This is a must-buy for me, eventually, but not at $90 (Deluxe Edition pack).
Its been brought up a lot on reddit, but basically Fox Engine is hard to program for, and most young people these days are trained to work on Unreal Engine, so no new hires at Konami have to be trained to use a proprietary engine (which can take months).
Engines also have to be constantly updated to keep up with the times (expensive), whereas Epic is updating Unreal so other companies don't have to (though they are allowed to assist if they so chose to).
When he mocked MGS4. 😐
