Getting it for sure. ;)
At the same time, in the UK it's completely legal for a 16 year old to have sex, and yet a game with sexual content is deemed unsuitable for 18+. (The highest PEGI rating) Kind of odd when you think of it that way.
The actual game data contains ONLY the tutorial. That's it. Nothing else. This is true with even the disc version. In order to play the actual game, you need to connect to the servers and download the day one patch, which is no longer available.
Monster Hunter World has been far, far more successful than previous games in the series and made a lot of new fans, especially in the west. It's an excellent game that's taken the series to new heights, looks amazing, has tons on offer, and without sacrificing too much for the sake of "accessibility" or "ease of play."
On the other hand Dynasty Warriors 9 is a buggy, poorly made game that looks lackluster, takes many steps back for the series an...
I played around with a few before choosing the longsword and sticking with it. I want to take up other weapon types like the bow, but I keep coming back to the longsword because I feel so comfortable with it. XD (Charging up to LV3 helm breaker then slamming down onto the enemy's head is so satisfying)
I love how each weapon feels so different and has different controls and strategies. My brother and buddy that I play with use the greatsword and insect glaive, so we...
Still not buying it. XD I'll be waiting for VC4 instead.
First time MH player myself, and this game has blown me away. I'm only 20 or so hours into it but I'll definitely be putting in more. I was worried that doing most missions solo would be overly difficult but so far I've not had any trouble. I'm guessing the post game content is where the need for co-op becomes apparent!
"Over six million units shipped as of today."
I would be absolutely ecstatic if the game surpasses Battlefront 2's lifetime sales. Think of it, an IP that's historically been little more than a niche curio title outside of Japan beating out a Star Wars juggernaut, and not a loot box or season pass in sight. :) Also doesn't hurt that the game is absolutely amazing.
SotC: I cause these giants such pain... They are only defending themselves. Is my journey truly righteous? Must I slaughter the innocent to bring back my love?
MHW: Lmao, kill 'em! Kill every last one! Take their bones! Take their hide! Gorge on their flesh! Steal their eggs! Slaughter every last thing in sight! I mean we gotta do it, they're monsters, right? "Maybe we're really the true monst--" NOPE! Survival of the fittest, BEEEEEEEEATCH! (And the h...
It's a reference to a mistranslation in the English version of FF7. I think it was "This guy are sick!"
Yeah, I think the problem is there are so many indie games out there where "it's retro!" is the only selling point, and not interesting new ideas, polished gameplay etc. Games like Braid, Super Meat Boy and Undertale succeeded because they were high quality games that felt unique, not just because they had a retro vibe.
Consider that people have beaten the original portal without a mouse. That's right, no looking up/down/left/right, just walking, strafing and shooting portals. It's insane. Just search for"portal without mouse movement" to see what I mean.
I think the English language is missing a word that accurately describes things like ESports, professional chess, checkers, go, poker, etc. There are elements of being a sport like intense training, concentration, skill etc, but it's barely physical at all, so the word "sport" or "athlete" don't share the same connotations.
Similarly, calling it a "game" doesn't seem quite right because after all, football is just a game. ESports, poker and ...
"They dont take any game for what it is, always wanting more from everything and comparing new titles to games that had budgets 10x the size."
If the games are launched at the same price then it should be fair to compare them. Doesn't matter what the budget is. In fact if the low budget directly resulted in a worse experience then by all means, it should be noted as a negative aspect.
I'm overweight and I still find fat characters funny. Watching Donut Drake scale a cliff or Tekken's Bob perform somersaults and flying kicks is just entertaining. Also, most game characters are active, running, jumping, climbing, fighting etc. You wouldn't expect them to not be in shape now, would you?
"Good for 6 months"
"Got boring quick"
?
No reason why story shouldn't be considered an important aspect to a game, especially when it comes to RPGs. Each medium has its strengths when it comes to storytelling potential and games are no different. Being able to marry gameplay and story together is a huge benefit. Things like the final showdown between hero and villain: being able to actually face them yourself and experience the challenge and eventual triumph of victory simply can't be replicated in books or movies.
"But there are no PC games worth playi--"
Oh no, Jinger and the rest of the apologist brigade won't be happy. This lack of "player choice" will surely bankrupt Capcom!
In all seriousness, I didn't pay any notice to MHW when it was first announced, but as soon as I found out the devs were shunning loot boxes and MTs in what is an extremely loot-based game, I simply HAD to find out more. Now I'll be getting it day one and I've recommended it to a bunch of friends. Never played a MH game befo...
I was thinking the same thing! MGSV as a whole was a big disappointment but the opening hour was by far the worst part. I was honestly cringing at how bad it was. After Ground Zeroes managed such a heart-rending climax I was baffled with how badly MGSV carried on from that.
When Boss pretends to be dead by OBVIOUSLY BREATHING AND FLUTTERING HIS EYELIDS AND DOING NOTHING TO GET AWAY so the guards who were mercilessly shooting corpses stand there and DO ABSOLUTELY NOTHING dea...
