The hell is a 12 bit panel? LOL
For the gamers, only company who truly cares about keeping gaming fair. I think Microsoft giving a console thats such a huge leap is not great for the gamers. Sony is for the gamers, they love the gamers
Just find it ironic that the PS4 Pro launched with a one or two games within the same launch window and there was no " no games" articles whatsoever. But the Scorpio is being set to launch during Microsoft usual exclusive launch window ( the holidays) and its being trashed by everyone on N4G. People realize this spring exclusive parade from PS has been after the Pro launched right?
Maybe buy a 4K HDR Display? That helps
Didn't know graphics updates were supposed to change my life...guess I'm leading it the wrong way
@Corrorios
My God you spew way too much stupidity. You're comparing an arcade racer with almost no realistic physics to a sim-cade that runs at double the frame-rate and implements physics on all cars on screen with damage calculations...ahh yeah one game is def going to have more overhead to improve visual elements such as dynamic time of day and weather. You're BF Sony and PD don't even have dynamic lighting and weather in GT Sport...at least with the tech de...
@cupofjoe
How is a 1.3 TFLOPs to 1.8 TFLOPs a 50% difference
But 4.2 to 6.0 TFLOPs is only 43%?
Does math no longer exist?
rainslacker
Sincerely doubt you actually code, maybe in your imagination?
No one is saying its going to deliver 6.5 TFLOPs of performance rather it will punch above its weight since the console is balanced so well and Microsoft has designed the GPU and CPU to reduce instruction count rather than simply improve bandwidth speeds to cover more rendering on screen. Hence the amount of power it would take for Scorpio to run a ultra setting 4K title is less t...
It's an engineering marvel, they've designed a console around an API and game engines instead of the other way around. Not to mention made tremendous gains in terms of balancing the hardware to produce punching above your weight, levels of performance
Obviously the best graphical experience on consoles will be on Scorpio. Now I just wanna see how much they can push the graphical boundaries to beat or match Turn 10 and Forza
Essentially the Scorpio will deliver Xbox One games with not only 4K resolution, but improved graphical features as well.
Like GT Sport? No dynamic weather and the lighting system isn't even GI
You already kinda have an idea:
GT Sport - 60 FPS at Checkerboard 4K
FM6- Native 4K at 60 FPS w/ dynamic weather and ultra settings
This console is doing GTX 1070 range of performance w/ NO optimizations, Microsoft has done an incredible job with their engineering this time around.
HAHAH clueless
Its FAR more efficient than the Pro. The Pro is literally in every sense of the word a brute force upgrade. More GPU power, higher clocked CPU and more RAM speed. The Scorpio is a design upgrade in every way, you have a customized newer version of the Jaguar chip ( focused on reducing instruction count ), the GPU is efficient in design not just cramming in more CUs, but boosting clock rate to pour more of out the GPU, memory is vastly upgraded and its also i...
From DF the Scorpio is 43% faster than the PS4 Pro, but that isn't even taking into account the custom specifications they made for the DX12 rendered engines. Its all about efficiency gains over pure hardware prowess. An example of this FM6 which runs at native 4K 60 FPS w/ NO optimizations. The PS4 Pro checkerboards GT Sport at 60 FPS and its a game built with the console in mind.
Only exceptional thing I see in any of these points is the FIA licensing program and online features. Laser scanned tracks, accurate car models and VR presentation have all been done by other racers. GT's been long surpassed, my hope is that PD understands that and released a racer that will set the bar once more.
@Inzo
Its a next-gen console with the Xbox One name in it? lol how does that work?
@morganfell
Its funny to most people who game just for fun or cause its a hobby it really makes no difference if an Xbox One game goes to PC. Console and PC markets don't compete for the same customers and whether you buy it PC on Xbox One, Microsoft's Xbox Division see's the revenue. Thus the only ones who I see bitch about Play Anywhere are dudes who are jerking to to their PS4 every night.
The Xbox Division in general has far less freedom than Sony gives to Playstation. Its not even about the decisions each division makes but rather the structure of the companies that they are linked to. If Xbox was given full creative freedom with the buying power Microsoft has, you'd get one exclusive after the next. But thats unfortunately not how Microsoft works
Patience kiddo,
This is a tech spec reveal, that means they're focusing purely on hardware information, games will come during a full reveal and/or E3.
