it would cost too much to put the game on 6 dvds and replace the in-game ipod to a zune =D i think the game sold well enough for kojima's studio to recoup their losses. not sure though, if anyone has info on that please let me know!

well there goes 50% of the reason i bought my ps3 (mgs 4 is the other one). sucks that sony puts so much money into it's stupid secondlife ripoff. hopefully though the ps3 version will be better than the 360 version, after all the game was originally being developed for the ps3.
i have a wii, and i'm definitely getting a ps3, if not this year then next year. the only thing keeping me from selling my wii is smash (a game that i think will add a huge amount of value to the system), and a new zelda game, or any other random exclusive gems that could come out for the system.
but the ps3 killer titles, integration with psp, and backwards compatibility are what's catching me.
recession or not, the system will still sell well. You have to consider how long the recession will last, and how many of the people that it will affect are also those who would potentially buy a ps3. sooner or later, those marginal consumers will buy their ps3. consider the possible price cut too.
bound to happen, the people in Japan are saturated with DS's, some of them even have two or three. PSP just took off a little later, and i see its life lasting a little longer than the DS's... similar to how i see the PS3 lasting longer than the Wii. I'm not trying to take anything away from any of these systems, because they're all great, I own a ds lite, psp slim, wii, and will get a ps3 sometime next year probably.

that's disappointing. especially since some nice fur textures were used in Mario Galaxy. but rare makes the dk games, right? nintendo's probably gonna blow their load on mario kart though to show what the wii can do.

i'm not a fanboy of anything, but ps3 doesn't have a big enough userbase to compare game sales with xbox 360. metal gear solid 4's coming out soon though, so while that sells some systems, you can buy some hd-dvds LOL OWNED
how about not every "real gamer" doesn't have loads of cash to spend on games. wii has and is getting great games for "real gamers," at an affordable price. (mario galaxy, twilight princess, metroid prime 3, resident evil 4, smash brothers, no more heroes, tales of symphonia 2)

what about the Wii's IR? that's what i love about it. i couldn't care much about the waggle functions of the wii/ps3 (to me they seem gimmicky), but what's awesome about the wii is aiming with the wiimote - the wii made resident evil 4, a sweet game, so much better with IR aiming. first person shooters are refreshed with IR, and picking up star bits and shooting them at goombas in mario galaxy adds a new unseen depth to gameplay. i want to see a third person shooter like lost planet come ...
seriously a good choice. the wii is hot right now. it has a handful of spectacular games, and it's cheap.
i do however think that the ps3 will do real well in the long run, but i think that getting a wii right now is a very good idea. i myself will wait on getting a ps3 till the price drops more, some great games come out, and backwards compatibility gets fixed (if you care about backwards compatibility).
How is that next gen? PC games will always be ahead of consoles in term of the horsepower used for it's developed games. There may be a a few months in which the PS3's horsepower usage will be higher than the PC's ... but that's it.
that's why bioshock on pc looks better than on the xbox360. orange box looks and runs better on the pc than on 360/ps3, and crysis is ONLY on the pc (for now).

the wii right now is the ONLY next gen console. the 360 and ps3 right now are not next gen - they're the same as the xbox and ps2 except with better graphics.
what makes the wii nextgen right now is that it adds a totally new way to play games with its new controller. the 360 and ps3 can catch up if they add something similar (ps3 already has the eye toy, but not many developers are utilizing it).

360's probably the worst console that's ever been released. Most of its games are out on the pc or ps3 anyway, with the pc having better control for shooters and RTS (mouse and keyboard - i have no idea how halo wars is gonna work on a console but that game looks crappy anyway). i'll admit it gets props for launching the era of online gaming for consoles, but that stuff's been happening on PCs for a while.

i'm still not buying that rumor... what does the japanese that's to the right of Xbox360 say? i'm not saying that the game's definitely not gonna be on 360 and just gonna be a ps3 exclusive, but i just want to be sure. i'm gonna buy whatever system this game's gonna be on, just for this game.

seems like a solid development process. let's hope that all the different teams there communicate well, and that the game goes through some extensive testing
