Will be interesting to see how well it does in Japan. It's good they're making it a worldwide release. I wish all games and consoles were worldwide simultaneous releases, so that some regions didn't have to wait.
I'd say it's a safe bet that we'll be seeing the new Xbox at E3 2012 and either a Holiday 2012 or 2013 launch for it. As for Sony, I'm really not sure. They might go with they same release window. That would be awesome if they BOTH released the same holiday so we could see a true "battle". lol As for prices, I see them both releasing for around $400. Sony won't make the same mistake again with price. The PS Vita is proof of that.

Advertisements are usually relegated to free members of a website and if you pay and become a "Gold" (or whatever that site calls it) member of that site, you get to browse advertisement free. That's how XBL should be. Silver members should get ads and Gold members should NOT have ANY ads. That's the right thing to do, but I'm sure that'll never happen.
I can't wait for this game, myself. It looks very interesting.
Thanks for that link. I was wanting to see that. Maybe everyone here will click on it and it will prove to them that there ARE advantages to developing for the PS3 with the SPUs and Cell architecture in mind. The PS3 version's graphics might not be insanely better than other consoles versions, but they will have a slight edge due to deferred shading and other techniques.
If the thing ends up costing $300 or so, I might get it. Otherwise, I'm gonna wait for more compelling systems (AKA, Xbox 720 and PS4).
And the fact that Sony played it smart with the Vita's price makes me feel much more comfortable with the PS4's possible price tag. I'm hoping the PS4 is only around $400 at launch. That would be incredible!
And I can't wait to buy a PS Vita!!
While I agree with you that Battlefield 3 is clearly a better game than any CoD game, there's much more than just its superior graphics that make it a better game. The destructibility plays a part. The physical interaction with people and the environment play a part. And, the ability to drive a huge assortment of vehicles, both land and sea, play a HUGE part.
Battlefield 3 on PS3, a match made in heaven, come this holiday season. PSN: blumatt Add me if you wa...
I'm still hoping that LBP3 will be a PS4 launch title. Imagine the improved graphics, possibly fully 3D gameplay (and 3DTV support), and an insanely upgraded physics engine. You guys see what people have done with LBP2 on PS3. Just imagine that times ten! haha
That pretty much explains it. lol And, more than likely, most of the people complaining are the ones that have a $2000+ PC rig that are trying to make themselves feel better by complaining about the PS3 version's graphics. haha I personally thought the footage shown was excellent for console graphics. I'm getting it on PS3 and I'm about to get a new Mac that could play it on very high specs. Why? Because all my friends are on PS3. (And because I prefer a DualShock to ...
Yeah, if Halo 4 took a page out of Battlefield 3's playbook regarding destruction, that would be awesome!! And, agreed about CoD. I mean, I play MW2 from time to time, but it's still just such an inferior game to Battlefield in so many ways. Hopefully 343 doesn't look at CoD for inspiration at all.
"Now I wonder if the PS4 will be more powerful then the Xbox 720. I remember Sony saying they won't have a PS3 type investment"
Yeah, that's true, but you've got to realize that they won't have to spend as much to make the PS4 really powerful. They'll most likely continue using the Cell architecture with more SPUs (maybe 32 possibly) and upgrade the RAM to something like 4GB or even 8GB. Then, they'll simply upgrade the bluray drive to a ...
I hope to see more Movie/Game hybrid blurays sold for the PS3. Like the newest Spiderman game could come with the newest Spiderman movie. Would be awesome. Just keep the price reasonable and alot of people will bite.
I just hope the graphics have been updated and the gameplay is less repetitive. I played the first one and it just got old really quick. There was little depth to the gameplay. That, along with graphics, is one area that InFamous 1 and 2 excels in--depth of gameplay. I guess we'll see come next year.
I'm definitely more interested in Battlefield 3 than Call of Duty (insert number). lol
The Battlefield series has done so much more in terms of multiplayer. There's destructibility, more realistic sound/graphics, and vehicles. There's just so much more to do when you're online in Battlefield.
It'll do fine this generation but if they want to keep using it for the NextBox, they need a Kinect 2.0. You can bet that Sony will have a Move 2.0. lol I just hope they both give us the option to use the old ones if we don't WANT to upgrade. That would at least be nice.
Sony doesn't NEED to respond to sales data. They've got the most exclusives this year and likely next and to them, quality is much more important than sales.
And, something that Sony does aside from tons of first party exclusives, is to make deals with third parties for [true] exclusive content like how you get Bioshock 1 for free with Bioshock Ininite and you get Battlefield 1942 with Battlefield 3. Also, last year we got Medal of Honor Frontlines with Medal of Ho...
Man, that PS Vita is so slick! I can't wait to buy one. It's got so many awesome features and games and is priced very reasonably.
My favorite games from E3 were Uncharted 3 and Battlefield 3. MW3 can suck it. lol :-)
I was referring to Bioshock Infinite when I said "Bioshock 3". haha
Just like with the PS3 and 360's launch, price is going to be most important. I hope the Wii U, PS4, and Xbox 720 don't cost anymore than $400. That would help us gamers out so much!
