NO WHERE has it been stated the 8gb-install on PS3 is a "high-res texture pack";
it's just a portion of the game's 22gb.
The exact same 22gb that can be installed on Xbox.

And PS3's 8gb-install is not only hish-res textures that are near-PC quality; they are the exact same as would be on the Xbox360 discs.
I've watched one of the beta videos with commentary. and one thing they've said about consoles, and controllers, is that it has forced them to create easier user-interfaces that work with controller.
as I get older with gaming, I grow liking user-friendly (especially with interface) more.
Not casual catering with everything, but user-friendly interface is nice, easy to grasp, and access.

IMO installs are great. The console can pull data quicker, run quieter, and simply not be reading compressed files from a disc in realtime while I play.
I wish Xbox360 had a mandatory install, and PS3 had a full-install option.
I am an avid console-only gamer.
And I am choosing Xbox360 (for this specific title)
because of the larger install option.
Why are some fans upset at 8gb? Had it been 10-14gb (better yet 22gb!) I would be getting this on PS3.
