The article seems to indicate that because it and Modern Warfare 3 are going to sell consoles and PC upgrades that it's somehow more than a game... not sure I understand that logic.
For the people downvoting me and the one bubbles sending me PM's saying Kinect doesn't handle speech recognition: you're wrong.

There are countless other articles similar to this one. As far as other games doing something similar: yes, I'm sure other games do. But generally they either ha...
Kind of preaching to the choir, no?
This has been discussed numerous times -- a regular mic could not do the same job. Kinect handles the speech recognition.
Oh dear goodness, come the hell on. John Carmack, who created some of the earliest 3D engines and has routinely proved himself from generation to generation, has "lost all credibility" because id focused on the consoles and their partners didn't get drivers delivered on time? Cry me a freaking river.
If you ask anyone in the gaming industry if Carmack knows his stuff, they'll all tell you he does. If you look at his engines yourself (hell, go download the so...
Yes, people still play good games that have lots of replay value. Shocking, isn't it?
I don't think the author really understood what Faliszek was saying. He was saying that Valve continuously updates the Source engine, and at some point they'll update it so much that it'll be Source 2. Not that they're working on an entirely new engine. They'll just overhaul Source significantly.
His exact quote: “We just update it, not just replace it,” ... “[at] some point we may say there’s Source 2 or whatever, but really for us there’s been a pretty e...
Reason #1: Because they're Orcs. And no one likes them. Ergo, ORCS MUST DIE!
To reiterate what I just said above: I didn't notice a single "hideous drop" when I played on the 360, and I beat the game twice.
I beat the game twice on the 360 and I didn't think the framerate was even remotely dodgy. I doubt the PS3 is any different in that regard.
Yes, because Double Fine is known for making horrible games... really man? You haven't even played the game and you're willing to say it's a "piece of trash" simply because it's family-oriented?
It was, this article just wasn't approved in time. It's already been fixed.
Halo 3: ODST was massively underrated. It did something original with its story and gameplay (at least for a Halo game) and had far more atmosphere than Halo 3 did. It shouldn't have been turned into a full-priced game, but it was still a nice break from the standard Halo formula.
Not only that, but these maps, characters and upgrades are all already on the disc. There's plenty of videos of people playing cracked copies of the maps on YouTube for anyone who doesn't believe me.
It's just pathetic. When I pay for a game, I shouldn't have to keep paying to get things that are already on the disc and were created before the game even shipped. I'm extremely mad because I purchased the season pass, and had I known they'd use this prac...
@ clank543: I'm not sure how I'm being pompous. I'm simply asking you to clarify how you're able to tell what a game should be rated based solely off of a few gameplay videos.
Should Brink be a game of the year candidate based off its gameplay videos? Medal of Honor looked pretty good in gameplay videos, but it ended up being entirely average. I could go on and on. I'm just asking you to explain your logic -- I'm not sure what's "pompous"...
@ clank543: Your response doesn't make much sense. I don't recall people slamming Bodycount based solely on videos -- it was primarily after the demo was released that it got slammed.
Furthermore, you didn't answer the question of how you're able to tell the score of a game. Saying one game is better than another based on videos isn't as precise a metric, and even based on that metric I would argue that's not a very good way of comparing things and is ...
How can you say what a game's score should be based solely on a few gameplay videos?
Wow, seriously? I was kinda iffy on the trial (still plan on getting it eventually), but it wasn't three out of 10 quality.
Ouch... I've been trying to decide whether or not to get this. I love the 2D Worms games, but it just doesn't translate very well to 3D. The trial version on the 360 is much better than the last 3D Worms game, but I don't know that I'll end up buying it.
Why are you getting so butthurt about a good game being exclusive to a motion control platform?
Hardcore gamers somehow being "above" casual gaming is the stupidest thing ever. Fun is fun, regardless of platform, genre, or audience.
