I agree, but it doesn't bother me, why should it? some critics may favorite games like this, but it doesn't make me a fan just because some games journalist / personality likes it.
Articles like this need to stop, not just because of bloodborne either.
This is a question that can never be answered in a general senses because not everyone enjoys the same thing, screw bad or good metacritic and reviews, if you're going to over praise a game, only do so if you put it up against similar games that play like it.

This industry has something for everybody, people appreciate different things, but we love same medium that is video games. Every artform starts from somewhere, but that doesn't mean it should be locked that way forever, everything has to evolve.

I've never hated EA, I just don't like them anymore, they use to have awesome games released under there name like freedom fighters, burnout paradise, the saboteur, battlefield bad company 2 an some others that i can't remember.
They don't allow a lot of there developers to make anything i wanna play, so I hardly buy games from them. Same with Activision, I only buy cod only lol but I don't really complain about it because i have other publishers/developer...
I just wish there will be no more arguments about AAA titles vs Indie titles and everyone can just look at games as games. People want different things from gaming and their taste in what they like changes or it doesn't. Let consumers choose what they want to spend their money on. besides articles like this are pointless when the majority of gamers are not even online lol

I hear you, i moved past games like this a long time ago, actually it's funny because difficult games I could never take serious, but games that are heavy on storytelling / cutscenes is where i became hardcore about video games, because it kept my interest beyond just pressing buttons, die, repeat.
And if the game isn't gta with like 70 or 80+ story missions (screw side missions) then i don't want it to be 40 hours long.
