Nice one. Thats a man's way to die.
Death by box. A bit like loony tunes it needs to be black with 10 tonnes written on the side.
I still have my launch 360 which did RROD about 2 years ago. I removed the x-clamp and upgraded the bolts and the CPU/GPU heat compounds with Artic Silver and its been as good as gold ever since. I also have a new S model downstairs which is a great improvement and is how the thing should have been made to start with.
My Phat PS3 320GB is 2 years old and no probs yet...
I have however fixed 6 Xbox's for friends, all of which were GPU flexed RROD and all o...
This is fu*king clever really.
Lets put aside any fanboy loyalties to a particular brand but this tech for the future is very clever. I bet that most of the next gen consoles will have their own versions of this tech.
I still prefer a controller for games but voice and gesture control for all of the OS features would be awsome.
When I was on last night in the UK the screen said there was 3003004 people online on Xbox.
I'm assuming that number is just XBL and not somehow cleverly including PSN.
Dig the world map with the day/night cylce shown. Europe and NA were lit up like an xmas tree. And even a white dot or two in the middle east, Japan and China.
Edit - even more impressive considering 3 of my friends online were playing with their new Kinect wii turd casua...
This guys life is so full of FAIL. I bet he gets a boner when there is a power cut.
Give it up already with the XBL price issue. This is a comparison of the game engines on both systems.
I'm happy to pay approx £4 per month to have the good service that is XBL. I spend more on loo roll.
I got most of my weekly shop at Sainsbury's and as long as that comes to £30 or more I got the game for £27.97.
Easy and good if you've got to get the grub in anyway. Clever of supermarkets to sell it at cost neutral to get the food punters in.
They have my money this week, normally it is Morrisons so good for them.
I work for Orange and I can tell you that in the uk yes the stock is a little limited at first but we are selling both the HTC Mozart and Samsung Omnia 7. We had a massive WP7 launch party on Oxford St yesterday with MS and plenty of interest and stock sold.
Both phones are good but the Samsung has the AMOLED screen. Xbox live on the phone is cool too. The OS appears to be really quick and smooth.
Give it a few days and the stock situation will improve.
Well said that man - bubble up
its quite good being an older gamer as you can just buy the lot!
wow!
Although the amount of people playing this in the UK is crazy - myself included.
As proven by the fact that there is not one single game on demand that I cannot get cheaper on the high street new or used. If they priced the games more realistically for their age given the lack of physical media as they do on Steam then they would no doubt sell a few more to all, myself included.
I need to be properly motivated to not buy a physcial copy as I like to have a disk. The best way to do that is to price it so you just can't say no.
Edit: I...
Is anyone suprised by this? MS gets a bit of market share - Nintendo gets a shit load. Market rebalanced for this gen. People owning multiple machines the trend these days as well.
Whilst I did (and do) have a PS2 I would consider myself a PC gaming defector as I only played GT on the PS2 and literally lived for 5 years on CSS.
CS compound boom headshot humiliation!
just MY experience.
I think there is an element of truth here regardless of internet speed. My point - I have a slow internet connection here in the UK and the normal PS firmware updates take me at least 10 mins for dl with then a couple more to install (in fact the last one failed half way through). Game updates on PS3 I can't comment on as I've not done one for at least 6 months. On the same connection a full xbox dashboard update (the big biannual ones) take about...
Totally agree with you. I love online in Forza but people bashing you off the track and the poor balancing in A class does let it down.
I guess with so many tuning options it is very tricky to ensure no odd combinations that give an advantage. The A5 is a prime example along with the Alfa (although I have both to fight fire with fire!)
On topic I hope they have spent as much time with the class and tuning balancing on GT5 as they obviously have with the visu...
Haha too right mate it would look proper pants. It could barely manage missile command. You do wonder why they bother although I would like to see an Amiga version of MW2 just for a laugh - oh wait that was called Cannon Fodder!
Reach around edition!
LMFAO mate
Lots of negative comments here. Yes it's only 4gb but this is better than the old arcade and with the wifi in it's a better machine than the old arcade.
Sensible of ms to provide the better machine at an entry spec IMO as it appeals to the mums and dads buying presents
Anyway how hard is it to add a decent sized USB drive at a later date. For those on a budget I think this is a good way of getting into the xbox scene.
I have a 250gb...
