Are we really so desperate for new gaming hardware that we will buy anything that comes along just because its new?
I'm surprised its pre-ordering so well gievn its so so specs and price. What is the motivation to buy it? What does it do to separate it from the competition?
As a mostly 360 gamer I can't see why I would get one apart from adding it to my collection at some point in the future when its cheaper.

Gamestation felt a bit more retro/underground where Game just feels too corporate.
I didn't buy much in Gamestation but sad to see it go. I loved looking at all the retro second hand kit in the windows. Great If you are a collector like me. Got the odd Dreamcast game from there yeasr ago.
Totally agree on all points. With the exception of the slightly weak D-pad the Xbox controller is in my opinion the finest controller ever. I really suits the older gamer like myself who has large hands.
Its hard to say yet how good a machine this is but for me, based on what I've seen so far I can't say that I'm excited.
I can't see where this machine does anything radically different or new or more exciting than what we have already.

Regardless of weather its native 720p or 1080p or upscaled (we don't know the hardware well enough yet - the Wii U might have an upscaler chip as good as the 360's) the very fact that will have the next COD as good if not slightly better than PS360 means they stand a chance of tapping some of the shooter hardcore crowd away from the PS360 especially If they can back it up with some other tempting games.

For me the defining game of this gen and the title that gave me the first WTF! Moment was Gears.
Depends on your definition of best. Sales it would be Blops. Art perhaps Uncharted.

I own all current gen and a half decent pc. I do nearly all gaming on my 360. I just find it the slicker system to use. The ps3 in my view is a slightly flawed system by design and by this i mean the hardware choice of cell, split ram and a weak last minute gpu. I'm not a fan of premium or season passes in general but this pack does look cool. I skipped on close quarters but I might be tempted to part with 1200msp for this as it looks insane. For me this looks much better value than the MW3 map packs that cost the same. The maps are huge with new vehicles etc. There are endless ways to kill!

Tons of content. The local mp is a blast. Infinite number of custom track possible through the editor and server.
Its a bit too easy though would be my only comment. For hardcore Trials HD riders this is piss easy until you get to the last 10 or so tracks. I think they made it a bit more accessable for the new or casual gamer. I've golded all upto flatliner already and plats now to do.

COD itself isn't evil if done correctly. The game mechanic is simple and addictive.
People are just tired of cut and paste and the corporate money bleeding of the publishers. MW3 is a big let down for me - I mean elite ffs. All of that data should be in the game like blops.
BLOPS is the best COD game made in my opinion and I still play this as first choice. Reg still over 200k online in blops.

Yeah its a shame isn't it. The 360 is old but it still feels quite fresh to me because of all the updates. Its a hell of a different animal now to when it launched.
