Describing any part of a console or its software as supercharged is just daft when its a method of forced induction.
As if turbocharged entering the vernacular wasn't bad enough with the Cillit Bang guy....
Its just modified/new achievements....
Love the way EA take credit for something that a group of talented guys and gals at DICE made that they then just bought.
EA might now own the studio but for me Battlefield will always be DICE. I wish I could buy the game direct from DICE with no publisher to get in the way.
I think this preview is a fair assessment based on what we know so far. I have commented before that the game feels like a poster boy for the Xbox One, That the visual clout has taken a slight precedence over features that might require a slight rendering downgrade such as time of day and weather effects. For me these should be de facto in a next gen simulator.
I'm utterly convinced that MS commissioned Turn 10 to make this game as a pretty system seller with visual fidel...
Ha it's the Apple iBox One.
Good that final hardware is shipping to devs in a basic approximation of the chassis.
Either that or it's Ben Hecks next project - a PS3 inside an Xbox One - a PSOne if you will Lol. Oh the irony if ever made. Ben if you read this please make it so.
Can I have one please?
I support the right as a consumer to be able to sell something you own if you wish when you wish. As a partial collector I like to be able to keep my old systems with their most well known titles in storage knowing that they will likely work fine if I use them or sell them in years to come.
The grey area and the one that annoying know-it-alls keep quoting me is the issue of licensing. In the old days when you bought a game on floppy or cd you buy the game. You own it and it...
Lol. Love a bit of irony to bring balance to proceedings.
Nothing's perfect and in xbls defence this is very rare. They do sort it quite rapidly to their credit.
Yeah it's unusual for live to go down but it did last night in the UK. I couldn't get on at all and wanted to play battlefield mp.
I resorted to playing the free Assassins Creed 2 single player offline for a few easy Gs :)
It does go to show that an always online device is not fool proof. I'm glad next gen systems will not become paper weights if the Internet or provider goes down.
Yeah but I'm not going to pay that for them especially when you know there will be another 40 quids worth of dlc waiting for you as soon as you go online and update.
I never pay rrp for any game.
Business Model - read that as Revenue Stream.
Soon we will be buying every weapon or car or map. I know I sound very doom and gloom but you watch, it'll end up being like some titles on IOS that earn lots of dosh through people buying donuts or megabucks.
Fair comment. Can't really argue with any of that. I would prefer a cat6 or wireless n connection to a big fat NAS drive on my home network as the best option rather than lots of cables. Would be nice to have everything for a home network all linked up but I know that MS will likely never allow an Xbox partition on a drive used by other devices such as my PC.
The USB ports I like to keep free for charging cables and my gamer profile on a stick. I guess next gen it will al...
Hmmm. The dlc in Battlefield is of a very high quality but I can't help feel, as an older gamer, that this level of purchase of the premium season pass is a sad reflection on what the industry has become and sadder still, the number of people who seem happy to effectively pay the equivalent of 2 full price games on one title rather than buying another game like the old days.
Same feelings towards COD season pass and that's worse as the games life cycle is only 1 year ...
I love forza and I agree with you Pisque on all except the damage. The others should be in a next gen game. If GT can have day night and weather then a next gen title should have it as a basic. Forza is supposed to be a simulator after all?
@ Yi-Long
I know you have got a lot of disagrees but I'm kind of with you on this one. I'm a massive Forza fan and play F4 online several times each week.
When F3 came out I bought all of the car packs during its run and invested a lot of money to have the best experience and I love cars. When T10 released the ultimate edition with all of the DLC included I was more than a little hacked off. At that point I swore to never buy dlc for forza again unles...
The Redeemer in the original Unreal mp. Anyone remember that? Now that was a weapon.
Yes I said I don't want loads of drives cluttering up my ports ^^^^
Lol yes I know, I was being slightly immature :))
Many of us Brits see ourselves or wish ourselves separate from the EU due to the amount of control that we have allowed Brussells to have on our domestic policies such as immigration and employment law.
As for XBox I often hear/see UK specific figures so assumed (perhaps wrongly) that the rest of the EU was tracked separately. What I said about Xbox being the market leader in UK and PS3 market leader in rest ...
Those revenues are huge. Even if they weren't making massive profits such huge turnover shows that the company is still in a good way. I think the new Xbox and windows 8 upgrade will be successful in the long run and x360 will go for years yet.
Now you know why MS was clever charging for live. Big revenue driver and I always said that Sony would do the same once they saw MS rolling in it.
Do you think kill cams are a good idea in BF? In COD they are mainly used to show where your attacker is.
That wouldn't do my BF sniping or machine gun emplacement/defending B much good for example.
The current kill cam in BF3 can give you an idea of their location but its not always obvious if you are in cover.
@Sunny below.
Fair enough mate. Yep some deaths are like WTF, how???
