Ok guys perspective - The new Samsung UBD K8500 4K HDR Blu-Ray player is £400 in Currys/online and £429 in John Lewis.
X1S is a full console with all those features and more - Its NOT a doomed product just because of Scorpio. A good stop-gap for people like me who can afford it to go with my HDR TV and a great option for anyone new to Xbox.
I've not watched the Sony conf tbh as I'm happy with my xbox and don't really get enough time to play it as much I would like anyway. However I do like my X hardware and as an owner of a day one X1, 360 pro and S models I was most excited for the new kit as the games are already great and multiplats are just fine on X1 + I like the ecosystem. Can I make a suggestion,
Ensure you close all apps running in the background first. You can do this by highlighting the main window and closing the apps from the menu key.Repeat until all closed.
I've found that helps with some games. COD ghosts for example freezes every 2 mins for a few seconds if anything is running in the background.
Back compat for me so far has been great. Southpark SOT and Call of Juarez gunslinger work fine. Fallou...

Both fluctuate quite wildly depending on how many cars etc.
PS4 seems to generally hold up better overall and with the pixel advantage as well although I don't like the look of the combined frame ghosting seen in some shots.
I however will be getting it on X1. Not enough difference to warrant buying a PS4 over and it will keep me busy with Forza 5/H2.
Will be interesting to see how the mp holds up with lots of players.
I think Sony are insisting on 1080p as a default position as they are taking the high ground on the console performance in their advertising, and resolution (or full HD) is one metric that average consumers can identify with immediately.
Personally I like the options as framerate is very important to me for the experience.
I have to say this looks great. Drivers are far too well behaved. Race online and morons normally just bash you off the road.
Great title to have on PS4 and should sit well until GT7.

PS4 is brute force on the gpu and works well with existing tools with good scope for future api's and gpu compute etc.
X1 seems to be set up slightly differently. Not brute force but geared for efficiency. The extra commands processors, the ESRAM, the NOC and move engines/offload processors. Its a different kind of approach with similar components....

The fact that Phil Spencer himself retweeted this article link is VERY telling.
Couldn't care less about PS4 - this article is about DX12 but it does suggest PS4 sdk are better than X1 which makes sense.
I believe that the X1 hardware was designed for use with DX12 and that its been somewhat hampered by DX11 which uses the hardware differ...
Well then if a 'majority' of sites review it average/poorly then chances are they arent all wrong....
7.5 is an ok score but it really makes no odds. The game is past its sales peak in terms of lifecycle by now.
