Haha. I see your point. No slight intended on the Pro, its a decent machine. I guess it takes a lot of horsepower to up the pixel count even for checkerboard 4k. We also don't know yet about framerate stability as I thought Dice target 60 and it could be a lot more stable on pro which it would be fair to expect of a more powerful system.
Quality of texture assets used I thought is normally reliant on graphics memory and system bandwidth which is where the X1X has been well consid...

The S doesn't although it can output a 4K signal for your TV. Game still renders at whatever internally but in fairness the upscale is quite good. My S looks great on my 55 Samsung. Can't wait for the X.

Well thing is this comparison actually only highlights what a decent job a lowly 1.3TF machine does compared to one that has 4.2TF. Pro is better as you would expect but X1S not looking too shabby either for only having a 3rd of the power. Resolution, texture quality and lighting being the main differences I can see. I'm guessing Pro is checkerboard as well - which is fine, but you do wonder where that extra 2.9TF is going.

A 25% price increase is shocking for the same service. No justification for that. As the service is same, at best an inflationary related rise would be understandable. Feel sorry for PS4 online gamers here. I hope MS don't get any ideas here as I would feel the same about it if it were them announcing this. MS have an opportunity now to hold the moral high ground in terms of console power and quality of service/cost. PR wise this is a freebie for MS. Don't waste the opp Phil!

No, probably not and that's why I'm buying one day one to replace my X1S regardless of the marketing buzzwords.

Yes, day one.

Now dynamic resolution doesn't seem such a bad thing vs. fixed as these games will just play better from the upgrade,

I got up to 8FPS better in project cars by switching to an X1S so goodness knows how PC and BF1/BF4 and others will benefit straight away.

happy days.

The focus as 4K is simply a marketing device so they will all speak from the same script. Don't read into it too much. All companies work in hyperbole and stretch the truth even though its annoying. MS could release only one 4K native game and they would legally in the UK probably be able to call it a 4K console in marketing.

No different to Sonys marketing strategy to benefit from the bad feeling to MS about non consumer friendly practice of original X1 launch = 'For t...

Happy to spend £450 on a box that can probably punch twice its value vs a PC and play all my old stuff, possibly better, straight away.. We also forget that it is 4.2x more powerful than my X1S

If you only game on Xbox whats not to like?

Early days but If there is obvious parity vote with your wallet. If a multi title is exactly the same as pro then they are not taking advantage of my platform (day one x1x for me).

Might be that we end up with differing levels of checkerboard or less dynamic scaling. Personally I wan to see a clear difference.

No. No it won't. Don't be stupid.

its 4.3 times faster than my S model X1 (which I updated from day one X1), and will improve gaming experience on virtually every item title in my library with 4K standard fixed for future, whilst making best use of my 55JS8500 HDR TV

Its a beast console and a bloody no brainer for me - day one.

Take my pre-order now!

As far as I'm concerned all games available to me on X1 are exclusive - they might as well be as I only own an xbox and have no intention of having two consoles. I'm sure this is the same for many. I don't often have gamer envy of PS exclusives to be honest as the kind of stuff I'm interested in was better on X1 (Gears better than KS, Forza better than GT, Battlefield/COD/Project cars available on both anyway).

I will upgrade to scorpio because I want to tak...

If this is a premium product with loads of power I have no problem paying good money for it. I'm target market - early adopter, owned all xbox and have large library, adult working gamer so I will afford it If its good enough. For some perspective to people complaining about a possible $500 console (which is £400GBP) I paid £429 for my day one X1 and the new Samsung S8+ is planned to be £779 in the UK. Now if a phone can be the equivalent of $972 and people pay for it then ...

To run forza 6 on PC a same console settings needs a PC with superior spec to Xb1 right? A Scorpio with new cpu, 6tf gpu, no bulky os and huge memory bandwidth+other likely custom tweaks might surprise us all. MS have set their stall out here and they generally deliver what they promise so if it is this potent + does X1 and 360 BC then day one purchase right here.

I understand some of the comments from people about concentrating on new IP but from my point of view I think that BC is fantastic and a genuine technical accomplishment.

In no way does it make me feel that there is a lack of new games. There are plenty, including multi plats which when you don't own a PS4 might as well be first party.

Also its not just BC anymore - In many cases now its bettering the original performance, whilst providing the additi...

Def not new release - I think that's a bit strong, but I would say that where a title runs better on X1 than it did on 360 then it can feel like a revitalised title, especially with the other features the X1 allows. I'm really happy to have BC on my X1. In some ways the feature and the fact that the game runs better almost gives me an excuse to revisit the game and play it through again. Its a bit like having a film on Blu-Ray. Its on your shelf but you hardly ever watch it but as soo...
