Of course he was biased, it's Joystiq. I enjoy reading Joystiq's stuff, but they are overly cynical on one console all the time. When the new Wii name was announced, every article on there was making fun of the name. It was funny for a day or two, but after that it was just old. Now they are on the hate Sony bandwagon, a while back it was the hate Peter Moore bandwagon. It's always something. I think that Harrison is right, anything that they say right now is put under a magnifying glas...
The PS3 will support it, but it's still up to the devs to implement it in their game. It also causes some extreme balancing issues when players with keyboard and mouse are playing against players with controllers online. Maybe you could have rooms that were only for KB/M when the machine detected that they were present, or maybe you could have it optional for the brave console controller souls that wish to go against the KB/M crowd.
I'm still playing this game online. Granted it's a couple years old, but it's still a better game in all aspects than almost any first person shooter out there. Actually, I don't think I've ever played a better one, so this is great news. Now I'll be able to have maximum settings that my current PC isn't able to handle.
It also has to do with early adopters. Early adopters that spend top dollar to buy a console are also more likely to spend $30-$50/month for broadband and $50 a year for Xbox Live.
Is this for Xbox Live Gold current users, or Gold and Silver combined? And does this count all of the people that used the 1 month free coupon and did not renew? I'm asking this because that site is either down right now, or it's not working for me at work.
Doesn't bother me if you talk about Xbox 360 games, but keep in mind that you will get some flames if you go in a thread for a PS3 game and talk about how it doesn't look nearly as good as "such and such Xbox 360 game." It makes it look like you're saying, "My dad can beat up your dad!" Then the PS3 fans go, "Can not!", and so on. It would be the same way if Jin Kazama posted in a Gears of War thread about how (hypothetically speaking) he thinks it looked horr...
The graphics aren't bad, they're actually pretty good. It uses an upgraded version of the Doom 3 engine. It has some interesting ideas and whatnot. It just looks like an average shooter, the 360 has some good ones coming down the pipeline though. Don't stoop to theMART and thelandofsand's levels, please. :) We need more thought on here and less knee jerk reactions from fanboys on both sides.
OOooh that's a zinger, land of sand. OMG TEH PS3 FAN$ JU%T G0T PWN3D!!
Good news, but it's just him thinking out loud. I'm glad he's updating his journal again, he seems real down to earth like Cliff B. from Gears of War. I hope that this happens, but nothing much to say until the second one comes out and if/when the start work on a 3rd.
Looking much better, the motion blur is still overdone for me and I would prefer to see more of the individual mud particles than what looks like dust clouds to me. Maybe this is just the screenshots, who knows.. but looking better.
I don't hate Sony but you also have to take into account that Apple and Dell are also supporters of Blu-Ray. Dell is the largest computer manufacturer in the world, thus their partnership is huge. Apple will help as well, even though their market share is pretty small.
Does theMART have a new screenname? Agree with special guest.
I agree with the first part, they need to find an unknown actor that could handle it. Denzel Washington is a great actor, but I agree that getting a big name star may be distracting. At the same time, almost every video game adaptation has been horrible, mainly for the fact that they haven't had an A list director, and an A list cast. This may be exactly what the video games to movies genre needs. So maybe I don't agree with you, but if Denzel Washington is in it, I'm sure that he would d...
He's probably getting tired, as are most people, of your need to post your inane replies to every comment on here. I hope the webmasters get an "ignore user" function soon, you will be the first that I use it for.
Just changed my username to the above as I don't want to be confused with Achira. I know that the $300 360 without the harddrive can play the game. Then you can put the $500 PS3 into the equation if you insist on using the $300 version of the 360. This is just a pissing match at this point, and it does all come down to choice. The reason that they were probably comparing it to a $4000 pc is that they have to use Alienware's because they're sponsored by them. I would use an Alienware as w...

This game is looking very nice, very nice indeed.
I think he's talking about the enhanced lighting and the other small, graphical touches. In that sense, he's right, but you're also right. To be fair to the 360, the graphical enhancements on the PS3 version are probably not because the PS3 is more powerful (I think it is), it's moreso because the game is being built and marketed as a launch title for the PS3. And about the resolution, since they're bringing it to 360, it's not surprising that it's 720p, which will be good enough for me.
Edit- I figured out how to change my name..
I wish there was a way to change my name so that it's not similar to yours. You put the F in fanboy, and embarrass me as someone that leans more towards Sony.
Did you get a $300 360? I don't know anyone thus far that did. So at least make your comparison fair, compare the $400 360 to the $600 PS3, and $2000 for a PC. You should be able to build a cutting edge PC for under $2k easily. If you want to buy an Alienware, then I could see that price.
The game will probably be the same price for 360 and PS3, so that's a moot point. Then it comes down to which console you have, or which one you would rather play it on. I'd rather pla...
OMG I'm theMART, this just shows how rushed the HD-I'm-so-last-generation-DVD is. This is what happens when you have an UNTESTED format, with an UNTESTED drive, etc. Now I'm going to copy and paste this post on every thread related to HD-DVD or Xbox 360. Repeat ad nauseum.
End sarcastic rant. Of course it's not a rushed product, it was just pushed back for technical reasons. It happens in the technology world all the time, reading CNET or any other tech site every day will...
