Aesthetically, the designs are great. But c'mon, those are blatent Apple ripoffs. I'm being serious here, did they get some people from Apple to design everything and do their PR campaign?
I think these were posted last week on another site. They're looking great though. Looking like the original CGI shown last year. Videos and gameplay will be nice though, is this on the list for TGS?
Isn't $70 the regular price for the start up package with one year of live?
It's a ripoff either way. This is an add-on drive that is only for movies, MS must not want to sell any of these if this is the true price. MS is all about choice... yes, $100 wireless internet add-ons, $70 a year subscription to Xbox live, $100 harddrives with 20 Gb of storage on them, and now a possibly $250 HD-DVD addon that is only for movies, etc. I'm not sure what the conversion from Euro's to dollars is, so that's why I said possibly. If it is $250, then you will have Xbox 360 use...
Interesting.. Definitely a unique concept, the absence of any storyline, or details about the game is what interests me. The screenshots are ok, nothing great except the last one, but can't tell if it's CGI or in-game.
Hasn't this been out in arcades longer than DOA4? And if so, wouldn't it be more applicable that DOA4 looks like this? Neither are my cup of tea, but wanted to bring that up for the sake of argument.
I said the same thing, except for Xbox 360 when I saw the first in-game shots for Forza 2.
Yes, apparently this was the massive news they were referring to. What a load of crap. I should have known that Joystiq would have made such a big deal about this, I bet they wipe Miyamoto's butt for him every day.
"Hardwear cant handle high compressed information like 360 can" Hahaha!
He's saying that because several days ago he was a kool-aid drinking PS3 fan, now he's jumped on the kool-aid drinking anti-PS3 train. Just look at all his posts in the last few days and you will see the change, and also realize that you should bypass his comments whenever you see his name. :)
These screens look great, what the heck are you people thinking? You were probably saying that those leaked pictures of Forza 2 the other day (which were later officially released) wer...
I'm not a hardcore PC gamer, but Vista news does interest me. Of course I still play Half Life 2 on my PC, as well as LOTR: Battle for Middle Earth. Other than that I just use it for internet and email.
Vista does look pretty great, but it's really nothing that Apple hasn't done before. Apple is going to eclipse it with Leopard for sure. If my Mac friends were on here, I'd deny all of this of course. :)
But yeah I think it's been delayed at least a year, if not much more. I don't really keep up with it because MS is notorious for delaying their operating systems. XP was the same way. I'm pretty sure Windows 95 was too.
So this would be the third delay of Windows Vista, right? The first two were for everyone, this could be for Europe and make the third one. And this has everything to do with gaming, ever heard of DirectX 10?
Gamers could blame Microsoft for being a monopolistic, greedy corporation. If they weren't so ruthless in business practices, do you think that the EU would be delaying this? Granted, I think the EU hates pretty much any American corporation and is full of crap. But ...
I take General's pro-PS3 rants and his newer anti-PS3 rants with a huge bag of salt. Both mean absolutely nothing. Enjoy a 360 if you want, if you want to wait for a PS3 then do so. Who cares. I'm in the US and will be hard pressed to find a PS3 before this news or after this news so it doesn't affect me that much. I'll still be trying to get one, a 360 is just not something that I'm that interested in. I'll be waiting until it's dropped to less than $200 to get one, but that is just me...
Haha, so true. Somehow I doubt that he was actually going to buy a PS3 in the first place. Personally, I don't see how a delay would affect my decision which console to get either way, if I'm set on getting something, then I'm going to get it regardless.
You're right about Scrivener. A lot of people have accused him of being a fanboy, and while he may be, everything that he has said has come true.
Oh that's a zinger!
Well, everyone is going to be screwed by this. 400,000 in the US is nothing, 100,000 in Japan will sell out in the first hour or two of preorders probably. There were going to be shortages no matter what, but this is going to be nuts. I'm still going to try to get one, unbundled, but I really doubt that I'll be able to find one for some time. Hey at least by the time I and most others can get one, all the good games will be starting to come out.
It's as reflective of European views as Joystiq is for American users. Or Gamespot, etc.
Doesn't really matter to me as it's probably a good general indicator, most Europeans are probably upset about the delays. I doubt that anyone was happy when Vista was delayed.
The article that you linked to states, "SCE UK has dismissed claims that it is shelving the GBP 40 million PS3 ad campaign in the wake of the console's delayed launch as 'categorically not true'. "
You may want to revise the article heading and description of the article.
I was actually going to ask the question, does it make a difference getting a cheap HDMI cable, versus an expensive "reference quality" HDMI cable. It's a digital signal, can a cheap cable have an effect on it? I could see getting decent component cables that are gold plated and whatnot, but am curious about HDMI cables as I'm going to be completely redoing my setup around Christmas with HDTV, PS3, and all that.
