Ok, he didn't say it was exclusive. But he sure gave the impression that he was saying it was exclusive, especially by supposedly having a tattoo of what we now know is a multiplatform game. I remember how crazy the message boards were at the time. I'm just saying, I'll believe these things are actual exclusives, that they will never be on PS3 or Wii when there is more confirmation.

I'm calling BS on this one. Why would they release all the previous Splinter Cell games as multiplatform releases, then now they're releasing Splinter Cell 4 on PS3 and Xbox 360, and then go to Xbox exclusivity before 4 even comes out. I may be wrong, but I'm calling bogus such as the GTA IV exclusive talk that Peter Moore pulled. Splinter Cell 5 may be a timed exclusive, as well as Bioshock, but I'm taking all of these "exclusives" with a grain of salt until there is confirmatio...

You must not have been reading IGN, Gamespot, or 1UP's previews. They've been saying this is THE "killer ap" of the PS3 launch. I can't wait to play this game in co-op when my friends come over. It is too bad that the co-op isn't online, but maybe for the sequel, if there is one. I imagine that there would be one since Insomniac usually likes to start a new franchise with each console cycle and then put out a couple other games in the series.

He hasn't announced the name or what it's about yet. Apparently it's only been in production for 6 months and will be released between November and January. He's mentioned that it's in 1080p, and that he's having lots of fun making and playing it. Sounds like a pick up and play title, maybe a downloadable title from the Playstation network, maybe not. Whatever it is, glad he's working on something for the PS3.

You can always wait for some price drops. That or work overtime and only ask for money for Christmas like me.. :)

I am still encouraging all gamers to contact SCEA and encourage them to drop the price in the US as well. I emailed them last week and received a decent response, but basically said they'd forward it to management as I requested, but that they're planning on sticking with the $499 and $599 pricing in the US. If you're interested in contacting them, go here and select "Other" at the bottom of the drop down box:

I highly doubt that the hardware adjustment was made at TGS. They probably made it long ago, but didn't announce it until TGS, which was the best time for them as it is their home crowd and a huge gaming conference. Denying that Sony stole the show at TGS is odd, but Microsoft didn't have a bad show. The RPG's that they introduced may help some, but I still don't think it will sway more than it has in the past year. They released in Japan with too few games, that's the moral of the story....

Major Halo 3 announcement probably equals "T3H A$$AULT R1FL3 15 8ACK!!!

No seriously, Bungie blows these things way out of proportion. I may be wrong, but I doubt it's much. Maybe it's a release date for it, who knows.

Agreed, I like playsyde.com's feature of allowing you to ignore posts by certain users. You always have the option to "click here" if you want to see the message that they posted. I've been calling for this feature on this site for some time now, but I know the mods are probably really busy trying to approve news and clean this place up.

Kutaragi was probably talking more about downloadable games like Flow, which has been demo'd at TGS. Probably something that the translator on stage goofed on. You people are blowing this way out of proportion without an offical statement from Sony.

Why would they charge for user (not developer) created content? PC users don't have to pay for it, and that's the analogy that Mark Rein was drawing between the PC and the PS3. Sony has been working on the online system for PS3 for over 3 years now, I'd hope that they have a decent system by this point.

Oh yes, you can expect to pay for developer created content, like on Xbox Live, but user created content should be free like it is on the PC. It's like this, you do a searc...

It comes down to preference. If you're fine playing 10 of the same levels for a while, and then the dev releases one new level that you have to pay $3-5 for, then that's fine. I would think about paying that much or maybe a little more for an expansion, but for downloadable maps, user created is fine (and free) for me. I've never had a problem with hackers on the FPS's I've played, granted I've never played Counter Strike much (haha), but I've heard of horrible cheating on Halo 2 online. ...

I disagree. As long as you have some good anti-cheat tools and good accountability with the devs, it's fine. I agree much more with the open model that Sony is having, provided that they still have the unified gamer id, messaging, etc...

Did you not see the 200 20 GB models that are playable at TGS? It looks like they have to me...

This is a great move, but I still think that they would have done much better to have the 60 GB model only, and have it priced at $500. Both models having a hard drive is a definite step up from the 360, but it causes confusion in people not understanding (or caring) about the differences between the two. HDMI in the 20 GB version is a good move, but I still plan on gettin the 60 ...

It's because of the apparent outcry in Japan over the price (and maybe only getting 100k consoles at launch). I just sent Sony an email about this on their website, I encourage everyone to do the same. Do they actually think that American gamers are happy about the price and are fine with it? Yes, I think it's worth the price, but I still wish it had been lowered worldwide to the equivalent of $515-525. Like I said, I encourage everyone to send them an email or something asking them to ma...

This game is intriguing me. First off, it looks like a freakin' Pixar movie, which is impressive given that it's real time and in-engine. Second, what is the game about?... I don't think it has anything to do with being a human, if anything, maybe you're the one being hunted. Maybe you're the animals and you are somehow leading your fellow animals, who knows? It looks great, and the lack of any details is what's making me wonder what it is about.

Looking great, where's the fanboys saying that everything on the PS3 is green, brown, and lacking brilliant colors.. This game looks great, maybe there is hope for Unreal Engine beyond FPS's. From seeing this I would actually like to see it used in other games than FPS's more often. Anytime one engine is used so much it just gets repetitive and you wonder what the devs could have done if they had to come up with their own engine that is specialized for their particular game and console. Ju...

Yes, but that is for people making games that will be downloadable over Xbox Live after they have gone through the approval process and all. He is talking about users being able to create different maps, very easily, and then share them with their friends. He's talking about the open PC type FPS mods (Half Life 2, Unreal Tournament games, etc). I've played probably 100 maps on Half Life 2 because Steam opened the assets and code to everyone so they could make their own maps, it's great. I...

Yes, why didn't they have Phil Harrison do this one. At least he's a real gamer, and not an engineer that talks about "pie in the sky" things all day long. No games except an in-engine cinematic of Afika (which is supposed to look nice), some FF XIII clips, Mobile Suit Gundam, Virtua Fighter 5, and Ridge Racer 7... that's it. I realize that there are investors in the audience, but come on, show some freaking games!

Hopefully the game videos will be starting to be p...
