Well, some of the multi-platform releases have online gameplay, some don't. There have been rumors about an equivalent of achievement points on the Playstation's online service as well as demos, but they haven't released all the info on that yet to the public. It also depends on if people want to pay a yearly or monthly fee for the privilege of playing against their friends online. Xbox live you have to do that, Sony's games you won't, with the exceptions of if there are any MMO's like Eve...

SCEJ confirmed that Motorstorm is being released in November (or maybe it was December), so that is wrong if that is released at the same time in America. Now that was a good interview. They need to promote him and have him do the PR announcements and be in charge of it. He was complimentary several times to Nintendo and Microsoft as well. He showed empathy with gamers regarding the delay of PS3, etc. Good interview.
Of course he did, if Sony hasn't spilled the beans yet, do you think a developer would have leaked that? No way, they'd be slapped on the wrists really hard if they did that, if it hasn't been released yet it's because either Sony will never release the official specs or they are doing it in their own time. Yeah it is almost making me consider buying the game at launch, if only they would mention that they did away with the horrible loading between areas I would be even happier. The reason I am hesitant about getting this game is that it's so long, I mean 200+ hours for a game is too much for me. Blu-ray holds data much better than DVD's, this is a 50 GB disc compared to 8.5 on a DVD. If what you're talking about is quality, the codecs are chosen by studios, it's not chosen by the disc. Blu-ray and HD-DVD's support the same codecs, so it's just a matter of the studios figuring out which codecs are better for their releases.

Hopefully these are using a better codec than the earlier Blu-ray releases.. It's only a matter of time before they move up to 100 GB releases.
That's your problem, theMART, you're using IE. Get a good browser like Firefox or Opera. Tried Firefox and I hate using IE at this point, too slow, takes up too much system ram, no tabbed browsers yet, and the many security vulnerabilities that it has. But yeah, your point about bloated OS taking up resources on PC's is correct. PS3 and Xbox 360 will have that huge advantage over the PC for gaming, at least for quite some time.
This is not news, this is from 7/23/06 and has been posted many times. Oblivion is a launch title for PS3 by the way. And the new Splinter Cell is still coming out for PS3, I believe.
Me too! Bet on it, it will either come out on Xbox 360 and PS3 or Xbox 360. They won't pass up the extra money that they could get by releasing this on consoles.
You are correct. He is expecting them to be as "gutted" as he was, but in the long run he anticipates those Europeans that were planning on buying a PS3 in November to still buy it after it launches, or at least to buy it in the next 4-5 years. Basically, he says people will be mad about it in the short term, but thinks that over time that once it is launched there, people will still support it and it will be as successful in Europe as the PS2.
The ironic thing is that probably none of you were planning on getting one in the first place yet you're the first ones to post negative comments (and won't be the last I'm sure)...

They didn't admit that they slowed the game down to make the graphics look better, they said that it was a faulty build and have supposedly already corrected the issue.
Yes, same as the Gears of War trailers and some of the Elveon trailers if I'm not mistaken. You can tell that all three are in-engine, and actual gameplay, but it looks much better as a trailer if you have the "Hollywood" type camera angles. Also, when people think that it can't actually be gameplay, that speaks something to the incredible graphics of this game...
I hope it's not a sandbox style game. I was hoping for more of a detective story game, maybe like Indigo Prophecy. I'm tired of all the sandbox games..
But yeah I agree, if it's Rockstar and they're saying for next generation consoles, it means at least Xbox 360 and PS3, and possibly Wii. Probably too violent for Nintendo's consoles though. I know they're saying that they will have M rated games, but those will be few and far between on that console. Especially with them...
If you've seen any of the other gameplay videos at other websites you'd know that this is actual gameplay (which is done for almost all games), some of it is from different angles like is commonly done in trailers, but the parts behind the motorcycle are the third person view in the game and look spectacular.
So since they are supposedly putting all of the languages on the same disc, is this going to mean that it's released at roughly the same time in the US? That's what I'm wondering anyway. If so that is great news, I can't wait to play this game. Resistance, Motorstorm, Heavenly Sword, Lair, and White Knight Story are what I'm really looking forward to. There are others of course, but these are the ones that are at the top of my list.
