Gays are vastly over represented in media. I can't think of a show in the past 5 years that hasn't had atleast 1 gay/lesbian/bi.
Considering they make up around 2% of the population and recent analysts have found there to be around 15-20% characters in media.
You shouldn't have to talk to someone in the gay community. Gay people are just people who like the same parts. It doesn't define their character.

It's fun for a while if you get it cheap. Don't expect anything deep but it does make you feel like you're in the original trilogy well. Shortcomings are huge though.
