No, thats a fact it upscales it, maybe "near HD" is just MY opinion based on the DVD's iv watched and the many Blu-Ray movies iv watched

but the fact of the matter is the PS3 DOES upscale it an impressive amount

a feature it has always had and last time i checked microsoft where flaunting it to be included in future 360 SKU's
