Unreal is already the number one used engine and now it's free. I'm an advocate for a competitive marketplace, so this actually might be bad for competing engines. It might not affect Unreal NOW, but with similar tools in subsequent versions of the engine, its popularity will definitely result in an increase of use in the future.
Kind of a jerk move, in my opinion... why not give other engines a fighting chance...
i tried it for the first time last night. maybe it was because i didn't know the people i was playing with, but it really didn't grab me like i thought it would. it was kinda boring, actually...
i've been playing modern warfare for 8 days now, so maybe i'm just used to that sort of pacing
grammatically, "which results in your death" refers to "if you get shot again"
If you died in both circumstances, grammatically, it would read:
Last Stand ends after ~10 seconds or if you get shot again, BOTH OF which result in your death.
So it's YOU that can't read, because the OR negates the application to the circumstance in which "Last Stand ends after ~10 seconds."
Either poor grammar, or you survive by cr...
Is that X-Server thing up? I'd love to use my HTPC to help...
activision, not IW, published the game, therefore had the final say on the price.
whoa...you can recover with last stand?
I'm sure they DID utilize more money, a bigger team, and better graphics, so I don't know what you're saying there... the ARTICLE says that Activision estimated out a "ridiculous" budget.
In any good business model, you have a general budget that is typically balanced and complete in its entirety. When someone throws, say three times as much as you had originally planned (ridiculous amount), into this business model, you can't just expand the model. You have to ret...
you guys are stupid to think that more money is all you need to make a game "better."
They are on the verge of releasing one of the most addictive, most played, most diverse first person shooters of all time and all you can think about is how it's just not up to snuff because they didn't
"take the money?"
You guys obviously have no respect whatesoever for the vision of process and development for games. MONEY DOESN'T MAKE GAMES BETTER. ...
For something to be "over-hyped," it cannot match its expectations.
No one doubts that it cannot match its hype except you.
never played call of duty 4, huh?
Tell tale sign of a champion developer.
Preordered last week. Midnight launch. Dressing up in camo. Wearing my army boots. Shaving head. Bringing plastic rifle.
"READY TO RECEIVE MODERN WARFARE 2, SIR!"
This article rules.
get off your high horse. it's completely an option FOR the gamer.
"Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will force players to decide whether or not they’ll play the game and join the game chat, or choose to stay in a private chat and not play in the multiplayer game."
Get it? They are forced to DECIDE. MS isn't forcing anything, they're giving devs the option of giving players the option of choosing a party-chat-allowed game or a party-chat-free game.
You're my hero.
I miiight just get a wii for this...
...could be any game...
I wouldn't completely discount it from being MW2, but when 11 seconds of footage is released, isn't it meant to be ambiguous?
I h8 that sh!t
looks like the same ol god of war...oh well
