This was to be expected, obviously it's a lot of work to start a global online network. I seems like everything needs to be an argument when it comes to Sony lately. They really can't win with you guys. Think about what the alternative to them releasing a handful of countries PSN a later. The alternative would have been delaying the launch of the PS3 in those countries. Now which circumstance is better? Damned if they do, damned if they don't.
These totals are already updated with the unofficial European totals.

First, the headline is misleading, a question mark after exclusive would have helped. Second, these titles being multi platform means nothing. Sony has a large selection of titles that look entertaining coming out in the fall, all 100% exclusive. I for one love the variety they offer in there game titles, so if it came down to it and FFXIII came out on both systems I would still pick PS3 because of the variety to their exclusives. I can only play so many FPS before I get bored with the genre....
Would a game coded to work on a PC work on a Mac without being rewritten to run on the Mac hardware.
The Character models look very impressive, I'd like to see this in HD.
Anyone have a link? I wasn't expecting that level of polish they almost look CG.
Do the levels sit on your hardrive or on a server somewhere? If they sit on your hardrive I don't see a problem with them allowing you to choose background music. The only think might be copyright issues with the artist thats playing.
The path the PS3 now follows greatly resembles the one the PS and PS2 followed. It's been a normal thing for developers to have trouble opening up the hardware Sony puts into their machines. I believe with time and exclusive releases Sony will begin to build momentum. Microsoft will continue to sell 360 at a steady rate. I dont see them giving up their lead for a while, if at all. The Wii I'm not too sure about. I've played a few times and I just can't seem to get excited about it. I think N...
First the Rumble technology belongs to Immersion so both Sony and Microsoft will pay for its use. Ok now Sony giving Microsoft permission to use BluRay drives will never happen. Why? If Microsoft can't use BluRay drives then they can either continue using DVD drives for their games and risk not having enough room on the disks in the future, or they can put in an HDDVD drive in which case Sony can turn around and say if you buy a 360 your getting an inferior drive compared to the PS3. I garant...
You think Microsoft would digitally distribute a 50 Gig movie? That's crazy. Unless you have a dedicated T3 or maybe T1 line going directly into your house I wouldn't even attempt something ike that. digital distrubution of BluRay and/or HDDVD will not happen for many many years.
Sony owns BluRay, and as a company letting Microsoft use BluRay drives in the 360 would be more of a detriment then a benefit. Why would they give the 360 the same benefit the PS3 has?
Sorry if my avatar offends you, It is not Hitler, Its Bill Gates holding a flag with the Windows logo on it. I don't agree with any of what Hitler ever did or said, so I would never put up an avatar of Hitler.
If you're going to say that about the 'G' you need to realize that the 'G' and the 'D' go together. It's not the Gamers Conference It's the "Game Developers" Conference. This event is not going to showcase great games, It's going to give us great games. Phil Harrison even said that one of the main reasons Sony debuted Home at GDC was so some companies would hopefully see it and get onboard. That way the have the companies onboard for day one. I know we sometimes want everything to b...
If one PS3 could render raytracing real time then we would have life like graphics already. What they describe in the article is rendering through networks, where in the cell divides the tasks and assigns them to blades or other PS3 to render. Then the PS3 pulls the info back in rendered completely. This will probably have some kind of use with online games in the PS3's future, but as much as i wish it could, it won't affect games being run locally.
I actually went to school for 3D Design, so I might be able to help explain what's actually being shown here. In any 3D software, in this case Maya, everything has to be modeled in a low polygon state. In this state textures can be visible and you are indeed able to move around the object which you are modeling. The final rendering has not been done so I guess you could say it's pre rendered, although the detail is not very good in this modeling phase. Although I'm a fan of the PS3, unless he...
From a business perspective this makes a lot of sense. Small companies will be able to more easily create full length games. Not all studios can get their games published. Sony is giving them the means to create games without hancuffing them with size requirements. In the end it will benefit everyone. Sony will lure more companies with the higher file sizes. PS3 owners will get more variety in the download selection. Companies will get greater creative freedom with a large file size. Even 360...
So if that's true then your 360 can't either because it's got nowhere near the amount of space that blu-ray gives you. I think GOW looks fantastic, but I'm intelligent enough to know why it's only 8 hours of gameplay. That's the trade off, if you want the great looking textures that your not going to get the space on a DVD for 20+. I'll tell you want though it might possibly be the best looking game i've ever seen, but i just can't justify spending $70 for 8 hours, since i don't really like m...
I don't put much stock in articles that have sentences that start with "And".
Obviously we can argue about what they meant all day. When I read "REQUIRES USER TO BUY" I don't see anything to imply that I need it to make it work. All I see is clever phrasing that can be taken both ways. It's up to the indivisual to draw their conclusion. I too will be getting a PS3, but i do agree that if they wanted to they could have used better wording. eg "not supplied". Either way nothing will ever come of this if MS brings it to court.
Maybe I can help with Comprehension since your ability to read is hampered by your ego. Yes it say "requires users to buy". What it doesn't say is users must buy for the console to work. When they requires user to buy they are just saying that it doesn't come with it out of the box. Next time you try to tell me read something, don't.
I only had to buy my PS3 once to get all that and a blu-ray drive (I had on old 160gig HD that I wasnt't using so I threw it in my PS3. A lot of people will have to re buy a 360. With that said I commend MS for finally giving their customers a trully next gen system. HDMI being fully digital should really give you guys sharpness to your games. In the end we all win. Competition between companies equals us consumers getting more.
