I only disagreed with you because your last sentence. I think Bulletstorm will be the taste of Gears that PS3 owners will be able to appreciate. And the Unreal tech for a shooter will counter the bashing from naysayers. UT3 came out 3 years ago, a year after the first Gears and Gears was still miles ahead of it in almost every perspective.
I think Sony is still trying to reach demand along with making a substantial profit at the present price point. But once demands are met a price drop would need to happen for them to be more competitive in NA, then the cycle continues.

I can't speak for everyone else but Pachter is right in his thoughts on this matter. The guy described my situation perfectly. I went without the internet for a few weeks and accoplished the tasks of compeleting Fallout 3 and Borderlands. I got the internet back and now I can't stand to spend more than 20 minutes playing single player games. There just isn't anything better than the stuff that goes on online.
