The game was released a week ago in europe, at least thats when my local games shop started selling it. I bought it and i must give it a 10/10. The only game that is as good for me is COD4. But than again i hate gears, i think halo was a waste of money, and i never had any interest in bioshock.
If CODEMASTERS keep the same formula as in previous toca games, i think we might have a contender to the king of race sims. All previous race driver games have been so much fun to play, some of the best racing experience, but it had subpar graphics, and not very realistic car handling, but best AI ever seen in a racing game.
My opinion of the best racing game would be a joint project by poliphony+codemasters. GT graphics and racedriver gameplay!
Man, got Forza2 and PGR, and completed both. PGR is alot of fun to play but is not a racing sim, Forza2! I given up playing that as soon as i finished it as i could`t stand the graphics. And i only played it for achievments. And anyone who compares Forza with GT don`t know what they are talking about. GT is in another ligue.
There`s not much to do in GTHD but i still play it everyday, and forza2 is catching dust.
Truth is SONY did shoot themselves in the foot with the ps3. They were way too confident, and they were subestimating the rivals. But SONY can see that as well and thay are getting they act together. Xbox360 might be a strong machine, but it has theyr own faults. Every game that comes out on it is slightly better than the last, but for the ps3 there`s a leap with every exclusive. None of them will lose. If one will have less sales, than the respective company will try even harder next generat...

FACT: PS3 has`t released any of the big guns. And what big guns they are!

I`ve been playin the 360 since launch (on my 4th one now) and i got a ps3 a week ago. More and more 360 owners will do that, cos alot of the 360 owners are not fanboys, they are gamers, and when a good game comes out they`l want to play it...
I got the demo for both ps3 and 360, and i was trying to compare them by switching the TV from HDMI to component, as i don`t have two HDTVs. It`s hard to make a comparison like that but from what i could see, the 360 version looks more bright and colorfull but that makes it look cartoony, whille the ps3 version has more real looking lighting and effects. I hate this game, so i`m not going to buy it for neither consoles. I`ll wait for GT5P instead.
Well this is a forum, so we can express our oppinions. For me GT never let me down. Never. Forza1 i never had any expectations so i was`t dissapointed. It was good but nothing to die for. But for Forza2 i had BIG expectations. It was on nextgen and i was so hyped about it. But for me it delivered bad graphics, average gameplay, and don`t talk about physics! Did you ever watch a replay. Tell me that in the replay the cars looked like they were handling realisticaly! They were`t. A good physics...
Well i own a xbox360, and GT5P demo alone made me buy a ps3, than i realised that i can`t download it so i went nuts. I`m dependant on graphics like that! But i`ll wait. I`ll wait as long as it takes for this game. It`s the king.

And what inovations does Forza bring to the racing comunity? At leats like you said GT makes the mark of what graphics should be. Forza1 was a scaled down version of gt4 and forza2 was slightly better than forza1. I played them both. I made 970 achievment points out of Forza2 but that was the only reason i played it, and i played gt4 twice just for the pure joy.
Forza2 did`n live up to many people`s expectation! It sure dissapointed me! It does not deserve 2nd place. GT3 at its time was incredibly good, was The King, and it set the benchmark for the racing genre. Forza2 did nothing except a slight improvment from Forza1 whille GT series always broke records and is not even in the top 10! And TDU is! Man, get outta here with that bs.
I completed forza2 and i recently bought a ps3, and played gthd, so i can safely say that GT series is still the king. Cant wait to play prologue
It might not be a huge system seller but it did make me buy a ps3 two days ago. I`m playing uncharted right now and it is a very very good game. The AI enemys are quite smart, they will try anything to get you. They spread and flank you, they throw grenades to bring you out in the open and they try to dodge your bullets and run for cover when they are under fire. Water efects are the best i`ve ever seen in a game.
Man i sure hope the ps3 will do better than the 360. I never played on a ps3 but i own a 360 (4th so far) and it sucks, even though i managed to squeese 14000 points out of it the 360 is not fun. The ps2 was much more fun but i don`t play it anymore cos of crapy graphics but i do hope the ps3 takes over where the the ps2 left off.
What is the problem with being a fanboy? Fanboysm is fun! Most of the people posting here are fanboys, and everyone before trying to post knows that this tipe of news is causing flamewar. This game will shift consoles, trust me it will. I`m a big MGS fan and i don`t have a ps3, and if this was the only game coming out for the ps3 in 2008, it would make me gat a ps3, and this is not the only game that comes out for the ps3, there is loads others that will make ps3s fly off the shelvs
I did`t know you can upgrade your hdd on a ps3! That sounds brilliant! Yet another reason for me to get one this christmas.

People said that 2007 was the best year for gamers cos all the big hitters on the 360 but just look at 2008 for ps3! Now thats what i call a good year. Ans there`s no great titles for the 360 that can encounter the massive wave of titles for the ps3.
Guys off topic question. If i own a 360 and i don`t own a PS3 but i hate the 360 and halo and gow and support the PS3 and most of the upcoming games, does that make me a fanboy?
We, europeans, don`t like things that brake down, and germany is number 1 in europe that is obsessed with perfection.
Europe demands quality, the 360 might have the best software as of now, but as a console alone it is cr*p and it stands no chance against the ps3.
If we`re to choose between a slow reliable car and a fast unreliable one we`d go for the slowest one cos a fast car that brakes down still gets you nowhere.
I played all the racing games out there that are worth mentioning, on any console, i`m a true racing fanatic, and the best looking and best car handling of them lot is GTHD. I did`t play GT5P demo but i can only see it as an improvement to GTHD.
Burnout is one of the worst driving games i ever played, toghether with NFS. Forza2 is only averege, is not the best racing game but is not the worst either. This is my opinion anyway.
