You'd be hard pressed to find someone who "hates" VIII, but I'll admit it's not perfect.
I wish the "Squall is Dead" theory was true though. It would make the story so much more ingenious and would resolve it's many weirdnesses.
Still, I love all the diverse locations and the music, and the story is good for all it's convolution.

I'd kind of prefer if the analog sticks were completely concave though, maybe with less of a defined, sharp rim around the bottom. Ergonomics.

Or maybe it really is Playstation Orbis- which sounds like a made-up parody console- but could relate to the Vita's name. The Vita links gaming to life, while the Orbis (world, disc, circle, orb) links gaming to the world itself or something?

You simply cannot play a game properly with that touchpad, you can see this by just looking at it. If this is true they've made a huge mistake. Plus imagine how many accidental snappings there'd be, damaging the connections.
Argh what's this obsession with touchpad / screen technology?? Go away smartphones / apps.

Well I know it's a pretty different game, (well, it has a similar spirit), but Dissidia Final Fantasy had a pretty good story. A fair bit of effort went into it.
There's nothing wrong with throwing in a compelling story. Developers are just secretly lazy / don't know how to write a good narrative, and say things like this to excuse themselves.
Which is probably why the Brawl story was crap.
Grapple in hand, possibly using it to commandeer a motorbike. Yeah this is JC3. Cannot wait. I'll be honest, I think I'm more excited about this than I am about GTAV.
Graphics look awesome too, I'm calling next-gen.
Also I'm all for multiplayer so long as it doesn't dilute the single player experience. This is a game in which multiplayer, as we've seen, would be infinitely fun.
I think Yahtzee's spot on with pretty much all his reviews, but I also think he's pretty unfair to JRPGS. They're just not for him I guess.

Those screens look less impressive than the actual video, but are still impressive. I'd imagine the next-gen consoles'll be able to pull that off. I doubt they'd manage that video though.
Sometimes I think consoles have just become stable platforms for big companies to extort money from us. We think we're getting quality when really this shit is just churned out for a quick buck.
If PCs have anything over consoles, it's that they afford more freedom and creativity, and aren't as stable a platform for big greedy companies. I suspect for every 1 interesting console experience, there's a dozen interesting PC experiences.

I'm happy with my wi-fi Vita since all I care about is single player games anyway. Do not give a crap about pretty much everything else it does.
