Hahahahaha! Great article; I needed the laugh.
Nah, really?
Come one; wasn't it fairly obvious that that there'd be more game announcements at Gamescom? You know...like Sony does EVERY SINGLE YEAR?
@WeedyOne: A slight hassle in certain situations perhaps, but not even close to a big deal. Certainly not on a level of "blocking low income consumers." That's just a ridiculous statement to make.
The simple fact of the matter here is that Microsoft's choices are going to cost them at launch. Things should be better for them by about Q2 2014, but in the meantime they can't just slap the lid back onto this can of worms they opened.
Every choice they made before reversing the DRM was a bad one. When they debuted the console they talked about TV and sports instead of games, they're not reaching out to indie developers (you're smoking crack if you think M...
I actually agree with you here - the first bit anyway. This is just nitpicking. The Wii U had a day one patch, so does the XB1, and spoiler alert: so will the PS4. This is a non-issue.
@Syntax-Error: The PS3 was both more powerful and more expensive than the 360. The PS4 is more powerful than the XB1, but LESS expensive. Being able to control your console with voice is cool, but it isn't $100 extra cool.
Agreed. It's great that MS changed their stance on this issue, but you can't really unring this bell. MS tried to change the gaming industry to something that they wanted, not what we gamers wanted. Sony may have made some mistakes along the path, but they ALWAYS put gamers first.
Where's the confusing come in? Nothing changed. If you understand how it works on the PS3, then you understand how it works on the PS4.
No, it's not the same as the XB1. It's the same as the PS3; they literally haven't changed anything whatsoever.
Wow...and this is just a launch window game. Can you imagine what games are going to look like in year two?
True, but while it's not a system requirement like it is on the XB1, Sony might end up leaving the option open to publishers. It's not impossible, so I'm looking forward to next week when I can know exactly what the score is.
I wasn't talking about the online requirement, but more the policy on used games and renting/loaning games and all that (allowing the publisher to do as they will).
Like I said, we'll see how it plays out next week.
It's entirely possible that the PS4 will have something similar, but I don't think their policies will be nearly as draconian. E3 is next week, so we'll see very soon how this situation plays out. As it stands right now, Microsoft seems to be digging their own grave.
This is one of those games that makes me kinda wish I had a Xbox 360.
Your one bubble is very well deserved.
When you're unveiling a games console, the very first thing you better be talking about is why a gamer would want it. Everything else is second to that.
When Sony unveiled the PS4, they immediately told me why I, as a gamer, should want one.
Microsoft failed to do that. At all. As a gamer I still have no idea why I want this thing. If I wanted an internet connected set-top box to watch TV on, I'd go buy a Google TV box. I look at a games console ...
I agree with DaveMan 100% All it was before was a GTA rip-off. With SR3, yeah, it finally left that behind and started to become it's own game. Which is why it's the first SR game that I actually liked.
I don't see how anyone could disagree with this statement. The web browser on my Evo is FAAAAR superior to the PS3 browser. It's really not even a comparison.
Odd. When I'm told not to worry, I tend to immediately start worrying.
Read the article. Trust me; it's not serious.
