As a long time gamer I eagerly looked forward to this years E3 to see what games were gonna show, see what the PS4 looked like, and get some info on the new consoles.
E3 came and went and what resonated with me was how none of the games shown where really stand out games like previous years I tried telling myself no this game or that game stood out.
While yes some really great games were shown no doubt about it I am eager to play the games that were shown it still felt lackluster of an E3 in terms of games. I then realized why.
E3 2013 wasn't about games and wasn't about the consoles, it was about the future of the industry, it was a battle between the Xbox One and the PS4. You might think well yeah they're competitors of course it was a battle, but that under sells what was really happening.
The battle wasn't for why I should buy a PS4 over Xbox One or buy Xbox One over PS4, it was about what is our future as gamers, if Sony went with MS policies was gaming as we know it going to change into a future we might not like? Or would Sony make a stand to have buyers retain their consumer rights?
That was the battle of E3 the battle to see what was going to be the future for gaming was it going to be a more restricted future where consumers have very little rights to this luxury product we paid for or would we see thee companies listen to its fans and put the need of the consumer first?
After everything we know who won, consumers, we won. Sony listened to our voices and gave us the option, they didn't force on a policy that would minimize our rights they instead put our consideration first and showed us that gaming is not heading down a dark road as long as we don't let it.
That was E3 2013 to me at least I don't know about you guys but I want everyone to understand this at the very least, I get it, I get why you might want to still get the Xbox One it has games that might or will interest you.
I get how the restrictions imposed by MS might not bother you because maybe you do have a stable internet connection, maybe you don't sell or lend out games but just know that it doesn't mean you shouldn't have that option.
So when the time comes let MS know that they need to change what they are doing because what they are doing is not good for the industry and is not good to you. Hold off on buying an Xbox One and wait until MS gets their s**t together before giving them your money and let them know the consumer will not take their c**p.

Microsoft announced its financial results for Q3 of fiscal year 2026, including an update on its gaming Xbox business and more.
Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.
To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

The charity event will be streamed live from Gamescom in August.

Thanks to the slip-up of an artist working on the title, we now have more evidence that a new Injustice game is in the works.
Pardon me, but I'm a little confused. You're praising Sony for giving gamers choices and for listening to our pleas and then you start to criticise Microsoft for things that are no longer relevant.
While Sony is certainly offering a better service, Microsoft did announce that there is no fee of any kind to play or trade/sell used games. Sony announced that they're following in Microsoft's footsteps and allowing developers and publishers to charge a fee if they desire.
You start off your blog by illustrating that E3 was more of a console war than a showcase of what's coming and then switch it up by saying Sony turned it to us as gamers and giving us "control" over the gaming industry. That's nonsensical. The only control we have is what console to purchase if not both or neither.
You falsely implied that this blog was based around what E3 was really about and then you turn it on a dime to be a Sony fanboy blog and boycotting Microsoft's product.
